Journaling reads: After we dropped Martin and Sandy back at the ship we asked our driver to recommend something interesting. He took us to a small local group where we were the only visitors. They performed four traditional dances for us, beginning with a welcome dance and finishing with a farewell dance. The host was the only one to speak English and he explained what each of the dances meant. Aside from the cultural significance, we also learned that our host was the only one from this group to go to school. Both Ricc and I found this quite sad and it really helped to drive home how poor this nation is. We were glad that our money went to locals who needed.
