What an absolutely wonderful job you guys did! I love how you had a plan and then you worked the plan! You both knew exactly what you wanted and man ohhh man did you ever do a great job!!! I so love the colors you used on the fireplace, definitely updated it! Congrats!!!
Oh I love the little tape measure and paint tray too!
I don't know if this LO is exceptionally creative, but the project sure was! When DH and I spotted this house, it was in the perfect neighborhood, the perfect size, and the perfect price...but man was that fireplace UGLY! It was a 1970's dated stone dust collector with smoke stains. So when we put in the offer on the house we convinced ourselves that it wasn't going to be THAT big of a project (our friends and family were not as convinced as we were). The journaling reads like this:
Step 1: Buy a house. 06/07/14 Step 2: Destroy the ugly fireplace, generating dust that will settle for a month while the fireplace acts as an eye sore. 6/07/14 (notice that date is the same? We litterally left the morgage signing with our hammers and air chisels. We had that baby down in a couple of hours!) Step 3: Send baby to hang out with grandparetns so you can "finish." Aka: At least you got the facia up. 09/01/2014 & 09/20/214 Step 4: Finish crown molding, paint, and decorate. 09/22/2014
