My heart breaks everytime I see another smiling face of a soldier who died in battle. (I know of at least one friend from HS who never came home) At the same time i know and fully believe that quote on the bottom of the page - our freedom is NOT free and so many Americans forget that! I'm so thankful that you made it home safely and proud to know you for your service to our country. My deepest sympathies on the loss of these four soldiers. What a way to give their memories life with this page!
Thankfully, I returned from Operation Iraqi Freedom(OIF) safely in 2003. That was not the case for a few soldiers who were in my Battalion, though. The four whose photos will be on this two page layout were killed in action from 2003 through 2007. Three of the four soldiers...I knew personally. They were my friends and all four were my brothers in Arms. This is the first time that I am submitting a layout without photos. I really wrestled with the idea, but decided that I want to continue to honor them and they deserve that respect. The photos that I have of them were featured for Veteran's Day. All were smiling. Their photos are on clips attached to Combat boots. My girlfriend took the photos. I am submitting this two pager for the November 2 page sketch and the November In Honor of our Veteran's, and the November Sticker Challenge, and the November Hoarder's Challenge. TFL and your sweet comments.
