More pictures from my 2011 Israel trip. Journaling reads "Our last stop of the day was Qumran, which is where the Dead Sea scrolls were found in the 1940's. There were caves built right into the cliffs which is where the scrolls were found. These scrolls had been copied by scribes in their Qumran community - and they were eventually named the Dead Sea Scrolls - which have become one of the most important finds related to the Scriptures that have ever been discovered. The park was officially closed, so we had to climb over the entrance gate to get in - it was Leor's idea. I loved just getting the chance to explore this awesome place that is so important to our history."
