Absolutely love what you've done here with the watercolours. Thanks for sharing the info on the gallery, too. My sons are big Star Wars fans so I'll have to check it out with them.
Terrific job! I really like the rows of helmets against the geometric background and the texture the string art adds. Your watercolor work really enhances the design, and the photos are awesome.
You did a great job on the watercolor on the helmets, and the "Love" stitching/ string art is amazing. And of course that photo is so cute! I don't know if my DH and I would have ever gotten married if not for our mutual appreciation for Star Wars either. Might have to show him this and definitely hook him up with the helmets site.
This is amazing. I love your stitched LOVE. The photo is great and it sounds like you two are real fans. Your first watercolor work is beautiful. That really adds to the helmets. Can you believe I've never seen Star Wars? I'm probably the only one in America. LOL!
What an awesome layout and so much fun! I love the pictures - you can just tell you are having a blast! The string title is amazing - perfect for this one and so is that paper. I can't believe you did all that fussy cutting but the work paid off. This is a great layout! I can tell you had fun that day and you had fun making this layout!
OK, that pp is perfect for this - I think they made it for you! The pics are great and you ROCKED that string art title! Overall, your lo is very artistic.
What a fantastic page. Love the helmets. I think the flowers one is my favorite, but love the tree, too. Great, great idea. The stitched title is Amazing, too!!
love the story! It really has a lot of meaning to the whole design. Love the stitched letters & that you used watercolor on some of the helmets. very cool!
DH and I LOVE star wars! We have probably watched those movies 100 times. This year we went to Star Wars Weekends by Disney. Even though it was so much fun to see the characters all over the park, the best part was seeing and meeting so many other fans (from all over the world). Star Wars fan some in all shapes and sizes. That's what inspired the design of this page. I had bought the storm trooper paper a year ago knowing I would have a good use for it eventually. But when we got this super silly photo meeting Darth Vader I knew I had to play it up. Recently I had stumbled on to a gallery of fan art inspired by storm troopers. Basically, in early 2014, teams from Disney Consumer Products and Lucasfilm pulled together artists from across The Walt Disney Company for a unique project celebrating their passion for creativity and Star Wars. Creatives from Lucasfilm, Industrial Light and Magic, Marvel and Pixar—as well as celebrity Star Wars fans and select street artists chosen by Neff – modified 300 simple vinyl stormtrooper helmets into profoundly diverse pieces of art. Its a super cool gallery and it shows there are so many ways to love Star Wars. Check it out at: http://www.starwars.com/projectlegion
This is my interpretation of that gallery mixed with my and DH's special love. I printed the logo for the title and fussy cut it as well as did the stitching of the word love by hand. I had been wanting to try string art for a while and thought this was a great eclectic design for the LO. Plus I had never used water color before, but figured this was the best way to dress up that paper to make the custom helmets. TFL!
