The journaling:
David Cook sang his American Idol coronation song, “Time of My Life” at this concert. When he got to these lyrics, he made a strange face and had the audience sing it. Then he had the audience sing the chorus and ended the song after that. As a singer/songwriter, it had to be painful to sing such bad lyrics that someone else had written. You could see it in his face and in his actions that this was not his favorite song. The next time we saw him, 2 years later, instead of singing this song, he sang his cover of “Billie Jean” that he also sang on American Idol and knocked it out of the park - with a smile on his face!
