I just had the opportunity earlier this month to see this very plane when they brought it to our local airport. I will be doing a LO on it someday too. My great uncle was a navigator in B-29's during WWII (before there was an official Airforace of course). It was neat to see the tiny little area in the cockpit where he would have had to work. Great that your son was able to take his son, with his connections to the Airforce, to see this and that you have the photos and the LO to show that visit. I like your title and the helmet and boots and the stars.
Beautiful tribute to our military Linda!! My son retired after 22 years in the USAF, his last 12 years at Andrews in our nations capitol. Love these patriotic pages!!
This is a great companion page to the other. I love the embellishments you used and the whole patriotic feel to it. Great way to document the freedoms we enjoy.
My son proudly served in the USAF, as a crew chief. He served his country well in the middle east. Kevin also served on the elite Team Thunderbirds SSgt. Crew chief. This is a page of my son Kevin, taking his son Allen to the WW11 airplane display to talk about the past wars and what the planes were used for. Being stationed at Nellis AF base in LV. he now resides there.
This aircraft is a Boeing-24-Bomber Super Fortress. This is an historical Aviation plane housed at the HENDERSON EXECUTIVE AIRPORT, in Henderson LV
