Totally heartwarming and innovative design. Sweet pic & cool papers. (Saw this on my Activity List, as SweetLadyCrafts had commented, and I had to take a peek. )
I always bought the school pics, too! My SIL (brother's wife) is the opposite, there are years of pics missing for my niece and nephew because they weren't up to her standards! Drives me mad! He is just adorable and whether the lighting is bad or not, his cuteness shines through!! Love this one!!
I agree with your comments on why you scrapbook. My grown-up grandchildren have asked me to leave my books to them in my will as my pages show how much I love them. Your son is adorable and his smile would light up any page. Keep up the good work. He will appreciate seeing that he is the star of your universe.
He's so cute and handsome... I mean how could you NOT buy those photos?!?! But I get your husbands POV (but, like you, I would still buy them, LOL) I love the BG paper you chose; it really helps make the photo shine and adds so much pizazz!!!
You're right, the lighting is dark but his smile shines bright enough to make up for it. I would've ordered them too. I love your background design. It's super cool!
Fantastic background! So creative and different! I think the photo is adorable - what a sweet little grin - and I don't blame you for buying the school portraits every year. A photo with poor lighting is better than no photo at all.
I absolutely love what you did to this paper!! I had to do a double take to see that it was one sheet of paper that you spiced up!! Looks marvelous that that photo!
Hey Girl, Wow its been ages, I just seen this featured LO AND SAID OH BOY HES GOTTEN SO BIG!!! SINCE LAST YEARS PHOTOS!!!! I am finally in my scrap room today!!! Very excited . Its been an exhausting Senior Year for me with Money. Just been working every second !!! I am going to Load some Pictures of Kaitlynn today (scrap LO'S) SO GLAD YOU WAS ON HERE STILL!!! I think your sons photo is adorable that smile is so cute!!!!
that smile! He is a heartbreaker for sure. I'm with you on the buying pics. I don't care how bad they are! In fact I recently did a page of all my kids past pictures and we had fun laughing at them. I didn't realize at the time how truly awful they were! Love how you added the washi and dots to the background. Really gives this dimension
Oh WOW! What a great picture of your little man - very handsome indeed. I love the paper you used - it's perfect! I can't tell if the pic is too dark, all I see is that bright smile! :-) Very nicely done.
So cute! Buy them!! I've scrapped many photos that were not optimum - both those that we've taken and those we've purchased. I've never regretted buying the less than stella photos. But I've regretted *not* buying them. awesome washi you used to create that "love this' design around the star. Wonderful page!
Yes !! I agree ,continue to buy your son school pic's because you get to see the change(grow) every year. I have a envelope full of pic's from both of my sons. Boy ! Some of them are too funny. He is too cute ! Luv the pp and embellies !
I LOVE how you added the washi to the BG paper to really enhance it! This is the most creative use of washi I have seen yet. You rocked this and should totally win this challenge.
Each school picture is a treasure, no matter whether they are great ones, not so great ones, or less than perfect. We look back on them years later...and I wouldn't take anything for mine or for my sisters' and my brother's. A good example is the page I made called My Sister, using several years of my late sister's school pictures. It turned out to be one of my favorite pages of all time. This one of your adorable son is PERFECT because it's him. I vote for buying each year...no matter what. It's a great page. Love it.
Great lo. Even though the picture is dark, your little man is handsome and has a great smile. Too bad the photographer doesn't take that into consideration because they know we really want the pictures.
We have the same problem with photos we buy on cruise ships - so dark sometimes! Of course, I buy them anyway (I'm like you with the school pictures) but I scan them and then they are super easy to lighten and print the way I like. I've done that for years! It is a really good school picture of your son and I would have bought it too! The color coordination on this is amazing and I love everything going on in the background! This layout is beautiful but it is a lot of fun too! Great job with this school photo!
Backstory: So the studio that is responsible for taking school photos at ds Devin's school takes good photos, but the lighting is terrible. The photos are always really dark. My dh doesn't want me to purchase them anymore because this is the second year of the photos being really dark. Anyway, I think these are really cute. Dark but cute. Anyway I'm the mom who buys photos every year, so here is this school year's photo. Besides mom always wins. Lol! I added the date and the school after I uploaded the layout. I am submitting this layout for the May Sticker Challenge, the 2016 Volume Challenge (#30/80), and other NSD challenges. TFL and your sweet comments. I love crafting because long after I'm gone my children, grandchildren, and great grand children can look back on the pages that I create and have a sense of who and where they came from. That's important to me.
