Oh Sheri, my heart goes out to you. I wouldn't have even got on to go the winery. I once was on a sky ride and hated it. I promised God if He got me safely to the other side I'd never get on one again. Even your photo gives me the shivers. Your lovely LO is as close as I ever want to be to a sky ride, tram or anything else that dangles from a wire.
Journaling: I always look forward to our road trips to Napa. I love spending time with my daughter, her wonderful hubby, and our youngest grandbaby. And the last 45 minutes of the 2.75 hr drive from our front door to their's is scenic and beautiful. Nothing could detract from the joy I take from our little excursions...or so I thought. During one of our jaunts to wine country, my son-in-law asked if I would come take a tour of his workplace (he was a mechanic at Sterling Winery). Well, of course I would! He had told me so many stories about it that I almost felt like I had already been there and met all of the people he worked with. What he failed to mention is that the winery is only accessible by tram. Oh sure, there is a roadway for employees to use, but the public gets to climb into a rocking tin can and dangle above the trees while ever so slowly creeping up to the top where they can disembark and look forward to the ride back down. Yes, I rode the tram. No, I didn't ride it back down, instead taking a much more tolerable ride in a van down the employee access road. No. I never went back. I decided I much preferred the deliciously aromatic selections at Robert Mondavi Winery. Not to mention the flat road that leads directly to their front door.
