A lovely story. What a great idea to detail the memories. I have not done much of that and I am inspired by you to add more to my pages. Love the colors
Love everything about this. Your journaling is marvelous. Such a great way to preserve stories and some of the older photos. You did a great job on this. Very inspiring. I love the Kenilworth card. Authors was our favorite card game! Brings back such great memories.
What a fun photo! You dad sounds like a really good sport. What a wonderful project to be scrapping these old photos and organizing them so future generations can know their heritage! Beautifully scrapped!
So charming - I love all the ephemera you used and oh my goodness - the grass skirts!!How sweet that you scrapped an unknown - I too have photos like that. Love the touches of the pale green - what a good accent
All items but the bg paper & top picture came in a media packet I picked up several years ago at a second hand consignment shop in NC. I did use a couple of mists/sprays and gesso to the papers.
One of the pictures are of Helen Moretz and a good friend and neighbor Elsie Bussa It appears that they have tired on a couple of grass skirts that my dad had picked up in Hawaii during the war!! The other photo is from someone's collection with no names and no one to claim the photos.. We have preserved our memories with photos so we should preserve our stories too, before they are lost! Elsie Bussa was a teacher that lived next door to us when I was quite young. I remember her hair being very very long which she wore braded then coiled atop of her head. We moved further into town and I lost track of her and her husband Art, but never forgot them. 1950's
