You make really terrific cards, first of all, which I totally admire, as I find them hard to do. And these organizers for your cards are so lovely and creative. Beautiful storage idea.
I absolutely LOVE this idea! It is so cool that you decorated your beautiful card boxes for birthday and for Christmas cards!!! They are fabulous! (And I usually scramble to make a card the day before I give it to the recipient! LOL!!!)
Hi Barbara. Your card boxes are pretty and its a great idea to keep a stash of cards. Its so much better than wishing you had a card or having to remember to grab one from the store :o)Ro
This is such a great way to store your cards! I am forever buying cards and then forgetting to mail them. I need something like the card keepers you made!
Your card keepers are AWESOME, Barbara! What a great (and beautiful!) way to be organized! I love them both and need to take an example from you - you should see my disorganized scrap space! LOL!!! And congratulations on winning the challenge, too. YAY!!!!
What an awesome idea! You decorated these so beautifully! I too am trying to keep ahead of the cards I need for birthdays and holidays this year. A huge CONGRATULATIONS on winning the Handmade for the holidays challenge! It's always so exciting to see friends' names on the list of winners. I'm thrilled for you Barbara!
I started making cards about two years ago and it seems I’m always making cards at the last minute. My resolution for 2018 is to make birthday cards sooner.
I did much better with Christmas cards this year but I had them scattered all over my work area. Some had just the fronts done, some both the outside and inside, and others somewhere in between. I had a box (the one on the right) and cut it to use to store the finished cards. It held about 30 cards including envelopes. Since most of my Christmas cards had several layers, the box could hold more if not so thick.
I didn’t cover the boxes until this past week. I decided to make the first box my Birthday Card box and covered it in Cascading Fuchsia Paper from Heartfelt Creations. I made dividers for each month with a line for each day. I can make cards ahead and put them where I will use them.
The second box I made using a piece of thin cardboard SB.com uses to protect single sheets of paper when shipping. I covered this box mostly with scraps of Christmas paper and will use it as I make Christmas cards.
I got the idea from Pinterest. That person used cardstock to make her box but I couldn’t fathom a box made of cardstock being strong enough to sustain any use.
