When I was about 3 we lived in town and there were no girls my age around us. My brother was usually busy playing with his friends, and they didn't want a little girl around, so a lot of them time I didn't have anyone to play with. If I went out they would have to watch me so they didn't invite me very often.
If Mom was busy I'd just have to play by myself. A lot of the time she would catch me sitting at the screen door trying to get the kids attention.
I'd be talking in a really soft voice saying
"Boys, Here's Debbie"
It was just me and my Teddy Bear.
