The look of this was inspired by one of Deenaw's Easter lo's. I loved the seriousness of it and the way it told the story as it is. Of course, I threw in my "old faithfuls", the lines, the font, the frames and the brushes. =) My lo's seem so empty without them. =) Oh... I have to break free. Anyway... this is Alyssa and Gage with their cousins at my mom's house. They had a blast! Of course, i have an obnoxious amount of journaling... and as always, hope there are no typos. =) ----- JOURNALING: This Easter was so much fun. It was
so much fun seeing Gage win with
the most eggs, to see Alyssa under-
stand that she was to pick up the egg
and put it in her basket. Daddy and
I had fun hiding the eggs and taking
12,000 pictures as you all raced to
find them. Even in all of this fun, it
is still so important you know what
this day is meant for. It’s not all the
bright, pretty colors... that’s more of
a “Spring” thing. It’s not about the
bunny or the eggs. That’s actually an
old custom to celebrate fertility... not
even a Christian custom at that. No,
Easter, as we celebrate it is MUCH
more. It is actually the single most
important event in history. It directly
effects you more than anything else
in the world to date. It is the celebra-
tion of the resurrection of Christ.
Your acknowledgement & acceptance
of this event is, I would say, probably
more important than the event itself.
It is what our entire faith is based on.
I know you hear so often about how
Jesus died for us so that our sins will
be forgiven. While this is a such a cru-
cial part of this story, it is not the end!
It is not what we celebrate. We do not
celebrate his death, we celebrate his
resurrection... his life... and the pro-
mise that all of this brings. It’s easy to
get caught up in fun and rituals, but
promise me... each Easter, and each
DAY, celebrate Jesus... nothing else.
