Spring Is Here

No one had to tell me that springtime came today:
Not the flowers, or buzzing bees or puppies full of play.
No one had to show me that spring came in the night:
Not wind, nor birds returning North on their annual flight.
I can tell it's springtime before the old folks do;
I wake up on spring's first day with allergies—Achoo!!!
