Bio: I have been an avid scrapbooker for about 5 or 6 years now, but have been a part of the "scrapbook revolution" since 1992 when Creative Memories was breaking out EVERYWHERE (well, everywhere in the sense of every dining room table it could wrap itself around). Back when Mrs. Grossman ruled the roost and Jolie was not even a glimmer in her Boutique's eye. When Micron was still being sold by CM and Galaxy was still a term used for the Milky Way...Not the best Markers in the Galaxy! When paper was just simply colored, acid free and sometimes card stock; no Bazzill, no patterns. I watched Rubber Stamps in their "Hay Day" and 3 years ago, advised a local store owner that she need think twice about clearancing stock she had from a failed neighboring stamp shop and clear floor space for a "NEW" showcase of stamps as they were on the way to a come back. 2006 hit, and with it more love for stamps, and not just rubber anymore. We have progressed from mere archivers as "Creative Memories" wanted so hard to stick with, to the true artist's we are. Ask a an honest "crafter" if she can scrapbook and she will tell you flat out "NO"! I did my time as a CM Consultant: twice; and about died trying to make a separate CM ONLY "Demo" book for my shows that still were "too much" until just recently, since they have began to shine with REAL embellishments and cutting edge products.
Papercrafters are artists that love to make a card for every occasion, not run to the local Hallmark; they take pictures just for their scrapbooks, whether or not they need them; they make journals by hand, they find reasons to build a special box or just keep a funky fresh one to jazz up. Above all, we NEVER throw anything away; (unlike my husband that threw away our tickets to Graceland, the faux boarding passes to Elvis' planes and all memoriabillia I had saved) This is what I am, an archivist, a storyteller, a papercrafter, a scrapbooker, a cropper...AN ARTIST, I love it
