Here's a sampling of what our amazing customers are saying about the Heatwave Pen:
The foiling options are unlimited...
"You can now use almost any stencil to add foil to your projects. The trick is to let it heat up for 8-10 minutes to make sure it is really hot before you start using it for the first time. With a slow and steady motion, simply trace the outline of your stencil to create beautiful foiled images on cards, scrapbook pages, DIY projects, and more. Larger stencils with open spaces seem to work best. The stencil has to be wider than the tip of the tool to create nice even contact with the surface of the project." - PaperMischief
HEATWAVE foil pen
"I purchased a HEATWAVE foil pen, extra foil, and some templates. I liked it so much, that I ordered another one and more foil and templates for my friend in England. Since it is battery powered, it will be great for her as she will not need to deal with voltage and electrical plug adapters. I picked my order up at the store and followed the instructions of the knowledgeable lady who gave me my order. I let it heat up for 10 minutes and used new batteries. I got excellent results the very first time. I also used it with stencils that I had and they also worked well." - nolimitskj
Quickly and Easily Add Foiling!
"Since foiling is so trendy right now I had to give the Heatwave Pen a try. I like that you can add foil to any paper, but what's really great is the ability to add foiled effects to 3 dimensional embellishments that won't fit into the MINC. I added foil to wood veneer embellishments and loved the look! I also like that you can add very tiny foiled effects and that since it is basically a pen, you can foil your own handwriting or hand-drawn shapes. This is a very easy to use tool!" - rebeccakeppel
At first I was a bit leery on buying this product with some of the bad reviews that I read. I have to say that I love this product. It works well and it is easy to use. You do have to have good lighting when using this product so assure that you get all the area covered that you want. The little light that is on it is OK but doesn't give you the amount you need. The battery back is a tad hard to get off but truthfully I rather it be hard to get off rather than it falling off all the time.

I am loving the Heatwave tool. It works really well with all the stencils I have at home. I also did some free hand and it worked great. I did find that it was easier to use while standing up, gave me more control. But it glides nicely and I was pretty pleased with the finished look.
I love and hate the heatwave tool. It is lightweight and fits well in my hand, there are no cords, which has been a blessing in some ways but a problem in others.
There is no cord to get in the way when you are using the tool, but it will only last as long as your batteries, and if you use it for too long at one time, then you run the risk of burning the tool out, which I did. I contacted the company, sent them a photo and an email explaining what happened and they sent me a new tool. I don't know if I they would send another tool should I inadvertently burn this one out, so I have been careful not to keep it turned on for too long. If you are concerned about it turning on accidentally, don't; the design is such that it cannot be activated with the cap on, so if you store it with the cap, then no worries.
It works similarly to a soldering iron, you load the batteries, turn it on, wait a few minutes, then place the foil over your project and draw what you want. The heat works to add foil accents to your work. I think it is best used to write a title, or highlight a particular accent, such as a star. I was foiling a drawing of a theatrical garment, when mine died.
I'm enjoying this new toy!
I love this tool! I not only plan to use it for cards but also in my mixed media art!
