A scrapbook for a girl I have a crush on...

Hi everyone!

There's a girl I really care about a lot, and her birthday is fast approaching. We care for eachother, but we're not "official" yet. We do have a colorful relationship with a lot of idiosyncratic characteristics (phrases we use exclusive to us, some inside jokes, etc).

I have it in mind to make a scrapbook for her birthday in order to show her how much I care and to hopefully push things in an "official" direction. Mostly, I just want her to feel special though. I'm completely scrapbook-incompetent and I was hoping for some expert advice. Any ideas of how to get started/proceed would be greatly appreciated!

Best advice I can give you is , Go through the gallery and look at the layouts in there. You should get lots of ideas. You will be amazed by all the talented people in here.

Do you have photos of you and your girl or pictures of just her? Perhaps the photos you have can inspire a page. I agree; I would go in the gallery and look at all of the many layouts! Have fun with it is probably the best advice I can give! Take care!

Thanks for all the advice thus far! I've been browsing the gallery, which is a wonder to behold. You're all extraordinarily creative and it's inspired some ideas.

This is a bit challenging for a few reasons: for one, we've been seeing eachother for only a few months and currently we're a few hours removed in distance, so we don't actually have any pictures yet, rendering my scrapbooking a little more difficult than normal (I'm assuming) For another, I'm trying my best to be chill about this and not overwhelming or smothering (which is terribly hard because I'm crazy about her!) Toward that end, I'm wondering if any of the ladies on this site could share their perspectives on how you all think a scrapbook might go over this early in the game.

I'm not sure how i'd take it...maybe start with a mini album so it won't be so overwhelming for her...

you could start by making her a birthday card and then let that be the beginning of your adventures together? Cards are pretty simple to make, you don't have to purchase a bunch of stuff to do them either!

If you eventually want to make a book, keep all sorts of stuff you guys do together and you can make her a book for your anniversaries. Put cards you guys give each other into it. Maybe she can even make it with you?

I did this for my now DH for our one year anniversary. I kept EVERYTHING (movie tickets, restaurant business cards, concert tickets, EVERYTHING) and made a "story of us" book. I've done one each year for the past 12. He cried when I gave him the first book. They're all written in a diary kind of format from me to him.

Whatever you do, I'm sure she'll love it!

If she likes flowers, get pictures of different flowers and make a page on each one. Find a cute little poem or saying for each page. Nothing icky sweet or way to emotional. Just making the scrapbook will tell her you care a whole lot. If she likes cats or dogs, same thing as above.

Dont forget to include pics of things she likes. The pics in the album dont have to be of just people.
or make a poem 8x8 album. take a pic of say a sunset, and find a poem (there are great ones here) and place it on there.
