gold ink pad?

I have and love the Tsukineko Archival Brilliance pigment Galaxy gold. It dries quicly on vellum and even glossy paper.

Hmmm? I love my Encore Silver and Gold pads. I've had them for years and years (over a decade) and they keep on going. I just tried stamping both of them on Bazzill and then also a really cheapy HL smooth cardstock (just in case the texture or surface coating made a difference). I used a clear stamp. I stamped, let them sit long enough to clean the stamp - which required a trip to the bathroom for the soap and water method. Then, I came back and heat set them. I am having NO smearing issues at all. I'm trying, but can't get them to smear even with vigorous rubbing. One would have to wonder if they have changed their formulas. I hope not because I hope to buy them again if and when these pads ever give out.

In any case, sorry you are not having the same luck.

I can't compare the copper to the other two - since I don't have that one, but I do think that the gold seems a bit thicker than the silver. I don't know if that helps in question of whether it would function more like your copper color - but maybe.

I would highly suggest heat embossing over any of the metallic inks I've used, and I've used a lot of them.
Anyway, it just looks so nice, LOL It stands out on any color of paper.

Maybe I'll quit looking for the perfect silver ink. Every silver I buy is completely dry by the time I go to use it. The first couple of times I thought I had bought old stock, but after five or six pads...I can't get it to stamp to know if it would ever dry lol

Maybe StazOn gold metallic? I haven't used it myself, but one of my scrapping friends loves it.

Yes, you can use glue, but not ink. There are pads that have glue in them instead of ink. However, there is nothing to stop the glitter from flaking off and I find it can be a mess in a scrapbook. I prefer to heat emboss since it doesn't come off.

You have to use heat or the powder falls off. You can't adhere things with ink, so you have to heat the powder for it to stay on there.

sorry not dry embossing but no-heat embossing - when you just use the versamark on a stamp and then embossing powder and don't heat

You can do a VersaMark ink with gold embossing powder.

Yes, I have gold embossing powder, and it's a good last resort, but I just want gold ink on these. Ah well. I'll keep looking.

One interesting thing, the Encore copper ink that I have works fine. It's just the silver which doesn't dry. I wonder whether gold might be more like copper than silver....?

I think you mean heat embossing......dry embossing is done with a stylus or a machine (Cuttlebug, Big Shot, etc) and embossing folder and it makes a pattern.

I haven't seen any metallic inks that I am crazy about either. Not sure what you are trying to create but Stampin' Up has a new illuminate glimmer watermark ink out in the holiday mini. I have used it and LOVE it!!!! It gives different effects on different papers. You can go to my blog and follow the link there to SU.

Stampin' Up came out with Dazzle Markers (gold and silver) as well. I don't believe they will work on a stamp though.

how about doing dry embossing instead? gold embossing powder would stand out better than inks i think. or inking the stamp with a gold marker - one of those that write on black surfaces.

Metallic inks are stinkers! They take forever to dry (in some cases, they seem to NEVER dry)and the coverage is not usually what you want. The ink tends to be quite thick, so you can end up with weird ridges and areas where the ink didn't cover properly.

I would go with gold embossing powder instead and you can get great coverage without having to worry about the ink drying.

I have never had good luck with any metallic ink drying so I hope you get some good responses.

I'm looking for a gold ink pad for stamping on black card-stock. Neither of my Dew Drop gold pads has lasted very long.

I have a silver Encore pad which was expensive, but I don't really like it. It never seems to dry properly - it smudges even after leaving overnight or heat setting. And I'm not using glossy card-stock, just regular black Bazzil.

Has anyone got any recommendations for the best gold ink pads?
