Also, use the little clip opener for bags of milk, does the same trick as those distressers.
In answer to how to use ink to distress, use a smaller ink pad (1"x1") and keep it on a 30 degree angle to the edge of your paper - make sure it's not 'too wet' concentrate on the corners more. Or check out Tim Holtz distress inks (and tutorials - on youtube) as suggested by others.

Just buy the electrical nail filer. I have one and I use it to distress. I have the zutter and it really isn't worth the money. It's loud and forgettboutit. And the electrical nail filer is only about $10.00 and works great. I got the one that came with all the size metal flier even the buffer for your feet and paid $10.00 for the set.




















Some people use sand paper too....or ink to give that distressed look.
