Paper for printing

Make sure you use smooth scrapbook cardstock for the best results. I got it to work with the textured Bazzil cardstock but in just a few years the ink has flaked off. The printing I did on smooth scrapbook paper or cardstock has held up fantastic.

I use scrapbook paper thru my printer. A non patterned one looks really good with print on it. I sometimes have to cut a 12x12 sheet down to 8 and a half by 11.

These days office paper or card is mostly acid-free and lignin-free. Offices want their paperwork to last, the same as scrap-bookers do. So standard, heavy-weight office paper or card should be OK to print on.

You can test if paper is acid-free by buying a pH tester pen. You can test if it is lignin-free by leaving it in the sunshine on your window-sill for a few months. Leave something on the paper, like a coaster, so that you can monitor the contrast. If it yellows around the coaster, it has lignin in it and is not suitable for scrap-booking.

Thanks a lot! I'll try to find the paper you've mentioned in our country (Ukraine). But it will be difficult because scrapbooking is not widespread here.

I always go to Office Depot and they have one brand and it is the only one I will use in my scrapbooks. It is acid free, like most are but lignen free is also important to me. It is a bright white and is heavier like a light-weight cardstock. They do not have it at Staples or Office Max.

At Staples they told me they were all acid free but when I asked if they were lignen free she had no idea and I wanted acid-free & lignen free on the label somewhere.

It is made by Wassau and has pool balls on the package cover and is with cardstock weight papers.

It is the only one I use and I have been using it for 5-6 years. If I need white mats I also use that too.

If I want a colored cardstock, - (I print on a lot of the light colors and pastels), I cut regular smooth cardstock to 8 1/2 x 11 and put it in my printer and get great results.

Actually, a lot of regular printer paper is now acid-free and safe to use in your books.

I'm a new one in scrapbooking. I can't understand the following item. What special paper should I use to print my scrap paper from my laptop? I have lots of beautiful designs but ordinary office paper can't be used for scrapbooking. Help!!!
