40th Anniversary Poem/Quote

I just posted almost the same question last week b/c I'm making a 35th anniversary LO for my mom and dad in law to frame. Here is the link to my post if you want to see the responses I've had. gift ideas

The only thing I could come up with on my own was the lyrics to the song 'Remember When' by Alan Jackson. They are great for a couple who has shared a lot of life together. It's a great song!

40th anniversary: Ruby
Life begins at 40, and the 40th wedding anniversary is considered to be one of the most important after the 25th. Not surprisingly it's been attached to one of the world's most precious gems. Rubies are said to be rarer than diamonds - they symbolise health, wealth and wisdom and, of course, passion.

Rubies are red, so why not plant a red rose in your garden as testament to your love? Or buy some vintage bottles and invite your party guests to toast the future and the past in vintage ruby port or red wine


There is the biblical passage which says in Proverbs 31.10 " A capable, intelligent and virtuous woman, who is he who can find her? She is far more precious than jewels and her value is far Above Rubies or pearls."

I found 25th Anniversary paper yesterday at a LSS and 50th paper.

I will check other LSS to see what I can find, but apparently 40th is not that big of a deal in the scrapbooking industry!

Sorry I can't help you with a 40th poem. I'm looking for a 25th myself!

That is what I have in mind, picture on one side, poem/quote down the other. With perhaps (although still undecided) a more recent picture of them as a 4X6.

All I can think of for now...

We ummm "aquired" hubby's parents wedding picture....okay okay we took it off their dresser, went and made a copy, and took it back before they knew it was gone! We have a couple more recent pictures of them too.

I want to scrap a 12X12 LO and frame it for their anniversary gift.

I need a quote or more preferrably a poem about 40th anniversary. We looked yesterday and found 25th and 50th but no 40's.

I keep thinking "Through the years" but I don't know what to put with it. I am thinking something about life, love, struggles, faith, children.

Hmmmm maybe just listing words of what has made them a stronger couple? Perhaps but I am still looking for a poem, any ideas?
