okay, there are ways around that...if you want to sink the money into it, a screw punch is an anywhere punch with interchangable tips that you DON'T HAVE TO HAMMER!!! There is also this big eyelet press thing that also sets eyelets silently, but that is a small fortune. Usually what I do is take my self healing mat out to the patio, where the ground is concrete, and do it there...all you hear is the gentle clink clink of the metal on metal and no one wakes up or complains (I live in an apt.!)

Now I get everything ready, leave the eyelett stuff for last and move out to the garage.. if I just have a few bangs I try and hide in my bedroom closet.. (my thinking is that the clothes will act as a barier I guess!)
