What binding to use for homemade scrapbook?

Thank You for the idea. Actually you refreshed my memory. I have read this some place before but forgot and I never thought of the decorative part on the end of the screws. Thanks a bunch!

I am making my own scrapbook from scratch and I am having a hard time finding the right binding to use. I bought a scrapbook from the Dollar Store with just the front and back cover. It has holes drilled in it with ribbon holding it together. I'm looking for something more sturdy. My page protectors has the standard 3 holes or just 2 I can use and my finished "family" scrapbook will probably be 2-3 inches thick. I've checked Michaels, Staples, and my local office supply store with no luck. I really don't want to use the metal rings that I've seen. Please help!
