I'm just curious. How would you use an acid testing pen on Scribbles or liquid pearls, which is like paint?

Also, I bet a transparency sheet is less archival safe than the Scribbles.

I believe, typically, anything that is water-based, will be archival safe.

Last night I wrote the company on the back of the Scribbles pack lol I have never done that before so I wasn't banking on a response from them therefore I asked here too...They replied! And yes they are acid free! Yay!

So thats good info for u ladies as well that would like to do ur own swirls(its cheaper!) And Scribbles has lots more colors compared to Liquid Pearls, but ooooh liquid pearls has subtle cute colors lol. I'm sure I'll invest in those as well at some point.

If you make the swirls on transparency paper and then cut them out that will help protect the photos since you will have that clear layer between paper and paint.

I think they are water based paints though, and I do not think they are acidic, but I'm not an expert.

According to google, Duncan scribbles paint is acid free. Just an FYI. I love Google!

Acidic products will cause papers and surrounding items to yellow over time. I use scribbles along with tulip puff paint for items in my books, and I just keep them from touch the photo, since that is all I really care about. I think they are water based paints though, and I do not think they are acidic, but I'm not an expert.

I would apply it to an area where you don't mind a bit of discolouration like grunged papers creams browns. So if it does discolour you can claim it was part of the original design.

I depends on the item some yellow, some make the paper brittle some can create a discolouration ring around where they are applied.

there are ph pens that you can use on the back of your design to test for acidity. if it is acidic you can by the krylon acid free spray which will seal it for you so it becomes acid free... that spray is expensive though, so you may want to just buy the prima swirls online...

I know that if you use something thats not acid free on or behind a picture on an LO, I have heard with time it'll yellow. Does it do that to the paper too? I don't know exactly what happens with non acid free things.

I would GREATLY appreciate any feed back.
