The old Sizzix machine

I found an old Sizzix machine for $25. the one with the lever/handle. This is a good deal right? Is it worth it to buy an outdated machine? Do the new dies fit this one? I really want a machine that will cut different materials. I have a Sidekick and Cricut expression already.

The Bigz dies will not fit in but everything else will.

I have the old one too and I also love it. I actually prefer the way it works as opposed to the Big Kick. However, some of the new Big Kick dies are really cool and will not fit in this machine. Take a look at the sizzix website to see what's out there. If you gravitate towards the Bigz dies, the old red monster might not be the machine for you. If you like everything else and the Bigz dies are not that huge of a deal to you, $25 is a wonderful price. On evil bay, you can still get some of the old, larger alphabet sets as well as retired dies for it, too.

BTW, this one cuts chipboard, felt, material, and thin metal. Love it!

Love my old big red!! Cuts everything mentioned and then some!! (sponge, veneer, plastic, fun fur, etc!)

It also smushes bottlecaps perfectly and you can use it to close the MM tag maker frames without having the tag maker!!

Yes, the drawback is that it cannot accomodate the Bigz, but then you could always use your lss or a friend or a crop that might have a cutter you can use.

i love my big sizzex machine - wouldnt trade it for anything..25 dollars is a killer deal! congrats..

I too have the old sizzix machine and I love mine. I use the cuttlebug dies and embossing folders as well as the sizzix dies and although there are a few Big dies that I like I am going to stick with what I have! $25 is a great price!

I love my sizzix too!! (i do want the cricut though) $25 for it is a steal--especially since it cuts various textures/items and you can always find dies for it.

I have the old reliable red Sizzix too. I use it quite a bit. I just wish they would make a flourish die that would work in it. I would be one happy camper.

Well, I just checked the superstore and they don't have it.
The one I have is made for the QK Revolution and the number is REV-0028. I'm sure others can be found by now since I got this one a long time ago.
I used it as a mask on this canvas (underneath the DREAM letters) ---

I love mine and use it alot as well. Worth the money. I also have the sidekick but haven't tried it out yet as I don't have the cutting pads.

Got it! Picket it up today. I also got a BG Notch and Die set for $6! Yes I've wanted one of these forever!!!
