anyone hit Michaels?

Found out our Jo's will pricematch if you bring in the ad...have to dig it out of the recycling tub! Haven't called HL yet...

I just want to say that I went to Michaels today to pick up some cheap Cricut cartridges, and I found the two I was looking for, and was so happy! When I took the empty boxes to the counter, the gal said they didn't have them. I see some of you got rainchecks- I didn't know you could get them. Did you have to ask?

Each time I read this title it sounds to me like you are abusing Michaels. Stop hitting them...

I tried to get opposites attract... they had the empty box on the shelf but did not have the cartridge in the store -- they gave ma a rain check so i will have it soon.

Bought two cartridges and an 8x8 album.... I pretty much behaved myself.

I think its odd that they wouldn't price match for you, when it states on a huge board above cust service( at my store anyway) that they will match ANY comp ads - if you want it bad enough, go back and look for the sign and put up a fuss. It is cleary stated and posted that this IS their policy!!

From what i know - HL will not price match - they wont even take comp Coupons like the others do. Oh well, i guess they make up for it by having great 50% off sales!!

I love Cuttin' Up. I think you can cut out the letters really in 4 different ways. This is one of my favorites!

I am honestly swearing off JoAnn's from now on. I also tried to get them to pricematch....they said they don't. I asked for corporate's number...she said, "We called them today and they said not to pricematch for Cricut carts." I then called corporate...and the cashier was lying!!! I kept corporate on the phone and went back in...said, "I have corporate on the phone now, and they said you do!" I then told the corporate lady on the phone to call that store and tell the manager what was going on. I got 3 carts then, but only after wasting my time and cellphone battery not to mention minutes. Why do they treat their customers so badly???? I'm never going there again. HL pricematched, but they did treat me a little funny. Maybe I will just look for my deals online. I have one store that seems to have great prices and their shipping is a flat rate of $5.00 no matter what or how much you order. I got printing press there for $37 dollars I think.

Anytime something like this happens, go to the District Manager. DMs HATE being told that you recieve poor customer service at one of their stores and will do something to fix it, because bad customer service reflects on them. I've found that the best way to do it is to ask the store manager for the District Manager's phone number and office address. Store manager sometimes goes out of their way to fix whatever you're upset about so you won't call the DM.

I just wish I had a J's nearby that actually sold Cricut supplies. Mine don't (they're the small stores, not the superstores).

Question is...does ACMoore pricematch? Does anyone know?

Not that we are trying to make trouble or making a clerks job difficult- we are only asking for this because they themselves clearly state that this IS their policy - we shouldnt have to go through all that you stated above to get them to enforce their own policy. When i got mine, the young girl didnt want to do it either, she said we only take comp Coupons - i said no, your sign states ... and she still didnt want to give it to me, so she called another cashier who was walking up and she said ,Yes we do- we want them to shop here and not go to Michaels, so we do this for them, and then showed her how to do it. So i think maybe the newer cashier are not as aware of all the policies???

I got 2 on Tuesday. Got opposites attract and alphalicous. I reallly wanted the cursive one but gotta say the opposites is so cool i may not got the other. So makes a total of 7 for me. When I got the machine I told dh I wouldn't buy a lot of cartridges but that didn't last long and he doesn't seem to care.

I called my Joanns and asked if they would price matched the cricut carts with Michaels and they said "NO" They don't price match. They accept Michaels Coupons but that is all.

I have to fight with Michael's almost every time I go in, especially on clearance stuff. When something is marked way down, and the computer brings up full price, and they argue, and you're in a wheelchair, and despite a manager right there they still want to argue until you take them back to the section where it is because they clearly are incapable of handling going to look by themselves .....

Yeah. And then they get cranky and throw paper into bags with other stuff and promptly fold and wrinkle it ... Grr. Don't like Ms.

hi ,yes i went i bought christmas chere can't wait to use it i still have to register it .
anyway i like the walk in my garden,guess because we are doing some landscaping on our own and i would like to add some things to my pages. can;t belive $40;00 for my cart. i try to always get them on sale,but this was wonderful.

I got Tear Drop and Christmas Cheer today. My M's did a total restock! They had at least one of every cart that M's is supposed to have in their stock.

Anyone seen Beyond Birthdays? The Cricut website is out of stock, and I was really hoping to pick up another cartridge before the sale ends.

The only one I've gotten is New Arrival (baby coming in May), but I really want a Christmas cartridge too.

Well I looked on the cricut website and decided that I would get either Opposites Attract, Base Camp, or Beyond Birthdays.

I called Joann's who said they would price match but only after calling the Michael's store to be sure they had the exact cartridge at their store. So basically if they were out, Joann's wouldn't price match making it totally unworth a drive to check it out. Pat Catan's said they wouldn't price match at all.

So I drove out to Michaels after work and couldn't find any of the three. They refused to issue rain checks, saying they'd been having the issue all week and that the store manager had said no.

I called another store in my area, who said if I came in they would definitely write me rain checks. They weren't sure why the other store wouldn't.

So now I'm irritated. I don't really feel like driving all the way out to yet another store just to get a rain check. I'm hoping maybe we'll see a sale again like this in the future. Oh well, at least I got Jasmine earlier in the week I guess.

I got one Cricut cartridge - Cuttin' Up. I also got the very beautiful Global Views paper tablet by Deja Views and three sets of embleshments that coordinate with the paper. The previous weekend, I went to Archivers and got the BasicGrey Sugarred paper pack, a package of Tim Holtz Grunge Board, some acrylic stamps and some ribbon. I think I need to get scrapping and use some of these amazing products. I did use some of the Sugarred paper on a CJ that I got mailed out today.

I feel a little better. I've been playing with the Jasmine cartridge and making some letters for Mother's Day cards. I love the photo corners you can make with it!

Karen, are you having the same problem I am with Jasmine in that the sizes are WAY small??? I love the cart, love the font, but they always come out small. Maybe it's just the photo corners. I have learned not to make letters smaller than like, 3/4" because they keep tearing.

I went into my M's last night. I thought I'd be slick, and wait until the tail end of the sale and then go in and swoop up rain checks for the four carts I really wanted: Opposites Attract, Dreams Come True, Happily Ever After, and Paper Dolls. Wouldn't ya know it, the store had both Disney Princess carts AND Paper Dolls! I ended up with a rain check for Opposites Attract, which I might go back Monday and get. I can't understand why that M's didn't write rain checks. I'd have called and spoken to the general manager, and if he (or she) was a jerk about it, I'd have gone over their head to the regional manager.

I went today and ended up buying New Arrival and getting a rain check for Animal Kingdom. I couldn't believe how many carts were left I was hoping that they would all be gone so I could just get rain checks for everything, I wasn't going to pick up New Arrival but my very awesome and enabling hubby told me to go ahead and get it. He's so wonderful.

Joanns told me that only if i went to get the actual paper saying that michaels had the cartridges on sale for fourty that they would give it to me then... So i just used my 40 percent off coupon... yeah, still wasn't that good of a deal as michaels was - i got paper dolls though..

I emailed Michael's customer service about it when I got home. I had planned on going back out later last night to another store that would write me a raincheck, but then decided it was pretty silly. I wasn't positive I wanted Opposites Attract, which was the only one they had in stock anyway.

On sunday I went in and bought Walk in my garden and I went back last night and I manged to get animal kigdom on raincheck no probs at the Micahels near me. I also bought lots of ribbon 5 for $1.

Just a quick question as I have never used a raincheck before, when it comes in do they let you know and do you have to pick it up in a certain time frame or like someone mentioned is it a never ending raincheck. I am not too sure how it all works!!!

As if getting two new cartridges wasn't enough Saturday I took the ad to Walmart and got another one called Printing. I really like that font and used it today.

I went on Friday and got a whole bunch of stuff! Got over a 1,000 pieces of chipboard for 9.99 it use to be 19.99. I was so excited when i saw that. I probably spent to much but I just get in there and get carried away. I always drag my dh with me and he actually helps me pick stuff out so I like that.

When I go to the craft store with DH, he always is asking me if I want any more, if I've got everything, etc. We spend so much on his hobbies (racing and the sort) that he find my scrapping to actually be CHEAP! Plus, he realizes that many of the cards/gifts that are sent to family are scrap-related!

Unfortunately, I have yet to get to the point where I just buy, buy, buy the way I want to getting everything I want. But I did have him get me 2 cartridges this past week, and he paid for the items I had on my "needed" list (some new pens, adhesive, items to replenish commonly used supplies).

My husband never ever wants to go in...he is always like "Omg thats a woman store" I try and tell him all the time men go in there. He mostly just waits in car for me but when I do twist his arm to get him in there he just tries to hurry my along.
