Best and quietest eyelet setter?

I have never tried eyelets before and have no idea what eyelet setter to get. It *MUST* be quiet because the only time I get to scrap is when my son is sleeping and his bedroom is right next to my scraproom. Can you lovely ladies direct me into the right direction? Thanks!

I like my Silent Setter...but you MUST use their eyelets.

The cropadile is easy and quiet, you can use any kind of eyelets. Plus it goes through metal and all sorts of stuff.

i have a silent setter also and i use any type of eyelets now it may take a little bit more of pressure and twisting but they always set like a charm for me i love my silent setter

Silent Setter it is! The most quiet!

I have the MM eyelet setter adn I love it! It is not to awful loud and is easy to use....

I vote for a Crop-a-dile! It is awesome and is completely silent. It can also punch throught a lot of really tough stuff. You can also use any eyelets and it has two different sizes.

I like my Silent Setter. I use all kinds of different brands of eyelets and have no trouble.

Big Bite! Don't even consider the Click-it... that thing is really LOUD.

Well then I bought the hardest eyelets known to man - even DH couldn't set them! LOL! I'll have to try some other ones.

I'm loving my Crop a dile and big bite...no noise at all and easy on the hands.

defintely the crop a dile or the big bite - they make no noise and will punch through the thickest chipboard.

Crop A Dile girl here! I had the silent setter and it only sets aluminum eyelets well. Other eyelets are too hard to set without a ton of pressure.

Crop-o-dile for me! If I was buying one now, I would get the Big Bite..that way you can set eyelets anywhere on your 12x12 pages! I LOVE my Crop-o-dile and it punches through stuff like butter!!

Either crop-a-dile - I have both and love them both!!! I've seen them both at ACMoore and michaels - you can use a coupon to purchase!!

Either of the crop a dials but I prefer my big bite. I have the M&M eyelet setter too, but can never get the thing to completely set.

I just got the Big Bite because Im moving into an apartment and didn't want to freak out the neighbors every time I tried to set an eyelet. It works great and it is super quiet!

I love my crop a dile! I use it all the time. I have the original, but I would recommend the longer reach one since it goes in 6 inches. I got mine prior to it's existence. Wah!

I never tried it personally so I can't say...I use the old hammer way (NOT quiet by any means!) and have bought the spring thingy one and silent setter and am sticking with the hammer.

I just bought a little eyelet setter at the local dollar/we-sell-everything store - it's some generic brand - but it's absolutely the quietest, easiest setter I have EVER used. I just twist the thing and it sets. LOVE IT. Wished I knew the brand, though ...

Since the crop-a-dile can be pricey (but worth it if you actually use it), I would see if there's an lss that you can try it out first to see if you like it.

I have the original and the big bite and wouldn't get rid of either of them. The original is handier, so I just use the big bite if I need something further in the page or if I would actually use the gromlets that came with it.

Also, for anyone that has any of those large, heavy-duty Creative Imaginations decorative silver eyelets, the regular crop-a-dile sets them so easily. The old hammer method, you had to pound, pound and pound some more & just hope that would set them. My lss owner tested one of them & I think both our eyes about popped out when it set so smoothly & without much effort.

I think everyone should have a crop-a-dile...there is no muscle required, absolutely no sound, and it works perfectly every single time. Plus, you can use a michaels coupon and get the original one for pretty cheap.

I used to have some other kind of silent setter and I hated it, it never worked right.

I use the old-fashioned MM setter with the hammer when I need to set an eyelet in the center of my page where the crop-a-dile won't reach- but there is noise involved with that. I remember when this was all I had and I used to sneak outside in the wee hours of the night to set eyelets!

I didn't like the original Crop-A-Dile but only because of the lack of reach. I've got a Big Bite now and love it! It's so easy to use and so very quiet. It is kinda heavy, but hey, it only stays on my scrap desk.

Definitely Crop-A-Dile. It makes absolutely no sound and you can use it for different eyelet sizes. I love mine!

The Crop-A-Dile. Let me just tell you & testify that I am in no way mechanical and still can't master the tape runner. LOL! Anyways, with that said, I fought it & fought it, but once I finally mastered the Crop-A-Dile, it became one of my most loved scrapbooking tools!...Besides the silent eyelet setter options & the fact that it is pink (& or green or purple), I especially love that it punches through materials such as chipboard, as well as hard plastics...I truly love it!

I started out with the Silent Setter and although I liked it, I wasn't able to properly set several different brands of eyelets. I finally decided to purchase the Crop-a-Dile Big Bite, and I love it!

I use old school hammer.. best Ive used. I HATE my silent setter. I take it to crops with me if I do one or two eyelets anything more I bring out the hammer. I also have carpal tunnel so probebly why I hate it so much. Im wanting to get the big crop a dial

If your on a budget restraint, how about Quicklets that can be set with a pen? I haven't tried them personally, but you can get them through eyelet outlet.

Crop a dile or Big Bite!

Crop-O-Dile cannot punch anywhere on page and is extremely heavy.

Making Memories is loud and requires two hands.

I have owned all of these and I gave away the other two for the Silent Setter. I use it with all brands of eyelets and brads. It's lightwieght, totally portable and compeltely silent.

crop a dile without a doubt! super easy and very quiet....it doesnt punch anywhere (long lengths)onto a page but I find I use my eyelts on my own made embeliies tags and stuff like that, so not an issue for me...the big bite would solve that delima

I love my Provocraft Silent setter.. Just set, turn and push and your done!!

I am a Big Bite girl myself. Love it, also comes in handy for making holes in belts and all other kinds of household chores.

I glad you posted this question. I use the very old style of setter with the hammer. I too can only scrapbook when my son's are in bed. I have to take my page, eyelets, and tools in to my master bathroom and shut the door to set them.

I had bought the big bite and returned it. I tried using it with gromets (that came with it) and they wouldn't set. The teeth would stick in to the black rubber portion and ruin my paper. I'll have to look in to the silet setter though.

Definitely the crop-a-dile! It is silent, and has always done a great job for me.
