Does Scrapbook.com ever offer % off/ free shipping?

There are so many things I want in the superstore-does scrapbook.com ever offer sales (other than clearance items) like % off your order or free shipping? TIA

I don't think I've ever seen free shipping. they do usually have a coupon in the store for $5 off a $50 purchase. sometimes they have little freebie gifts with purchases.

If you go to your place and hit "shopping" and then in that "coupons and specials" you can see exactly what they have to offer at this moment.

I've gotten coupons several times in my orders for 10% of my next purchase.

Agreed on the wish for free shipping! I'd even be happy if it was a standard kind of thing, where you spend XX.xx and get free shipping. Some sites say spend $25 and shipping is free; others start at 50.

Free shipping often happens around christmas and that is when my mom shops my wish list for Christms!

yeah I usually shop around online and who ever has the cheapest or Free shipping gets my order.

I understand that shipping is expensive, I ship stuff a lot...but couldn't they exchange that 10% off for free shipping if you spend say $50, which ALL of us could probably do in about 2 seconds flat!!! Shipping may be more than $5, but I think it would even out with some people's orders being under $5 and some over.

I would buy a LOT more from here if there were free shipping...I hate spending my money with nothing in return...KWIM

I shopped here a good while before I joined and I think I got free shipping once at Christmas -- it was offered for one day -- free shipping over a certain amount would certainly make a difference in issues I have with the store.

I do know what you mean. I very rarely shop online because I hate paying for shipping. I would place my first order in a heart beat if they had free shipping. Maybe if enough people post here they will consider it?

Seriously? You can't pay $8 to have something shipped? Seriously?
It's not like it's alot of money. Make a big enough order and it's even more worth it.
They don't mark up their shipping.
They have 10% off sales sometimes. That should
"make it worth" your while.

You can't expect a business to pay for your shipping and not charge you for it. Any business that has free shipping usually makes up for it somewhere else with markups.

LOL Dawn...nobody is saying anything against shopping at sb.com...we all love this site & I love to support this site!

Don't get upset just because people are stating their opinions...there really is nothing wrong with that!!! If people choose not to shop somewhere because of shipping, that is their choice and they don't deserve to be brow beaten for that!

Having said that...I don't think sb.com is going to give free shipping...but they make up for that in other ways. There is always at least one contest going on every month where you have a chance to win a $30 prize pack with FREE shipping...lol! Plus, there are several ways you can enter to win $10 g.c. daily!!! No other site (that I am aware of) gives out soooo many freebies!!!

So, in support of the site I love, I pay the shipping when I place an order without complaint, I just place a really big order!

Free shipping would be a great gift from this place. I'd order my wish list today!

Free shipping to me is a non-important thing. I live in Canada so only a handful of sites will ship to Canada free or cheaply. Most sites that do offer free shipping have a clause that says "only in the US".

But now if someone wanted to give me free shipping...I'd spend a lot to make it worth my while

I think the shipping cost is fairly reasonable for me since I'd spend well over the shipping charge in gas...at least this way I'm supporting the site and I don't have to drive 50 miles to do it.

I have to drive at least an hour on the worst highway in the country to get to my closest lss so i don't think about the shipping costs - LOL!

The past 2 years, when they did the 12 days of Christmas, thats when they have offered at least one day of free shipping. Otherwise, they offer terrific % off coupons and all kinds of freebies just for ordering stuff all year long.

Paying a little shipping in exchange for good customer service and products that arrive in a timely and well packed manner is a pretty nice deal in my opinion.

I wish they'd offer free shipping sometimes! It's the shipping prices that make me purchase elsewhere!

I don't really like to shop online so it's not a big deal for me. I would rather see the product in person and feel it, etc. I usually use the internet to price things and budget, etc.

As far as the actual costs go- It isn't a true shipping cost. They do mark up their shipping rate. I live here in Arizona, right near their warehouse, and they still charge the same flat rate shipping amount to me for a few embellishments as they do to ship an order to my friend in California. It doesn't cost nearly $7 to send a sheet of stickers across the city and they know that, which is why they offer people who live near by to come pick up their orders wo a shipping cost. But, I would by more -doesn't even have to be free shipping- if they just charged the actual costs and I didn't have to drive over there.

Not to mention that their pricing is the same as my LSS. I could understand if their prices were lower and it made the shipping worth it but really it comes down to how much I want those hard to find items.

Either way, I love the site so I can't knock it. Its the best Scrapbooking site on the web IMO

It's not just the postage, though, it's also the labor cost of pulling the stuff off the shelves, packing it properly, etc.

If I want to order a bottle of stickles, it will cost me $17 for shipping - I'm in Canada. I do A LOT of swaps on these boards, and I can say for sure that the actual shipping costs are not even close... Having said that, sb.com does carry an amazing aray of products, and I love the forums and everything else about it! I only live 30 mins from the US border, and a lot of people from my city have mailboxes in the States - I think I might start doing this.... I would LOVE to place an order from here

Generally during the 12 Days of Christmas specials there is one day that is a free shipping offer.

I don't shop online because I hate paying for s/h, but at the same time I live in an area with ample shopping, LSS's, and therefore have very little reason to shop online.

I am normally the worst when it comes to paying shipping, but I don't mind all that much here; it doesn't seem THAT over the top, and I figure since there is no subscription cost to coming to the site, as much as I am on here, I can help support w/my business. I can't even tell you where the nearest LSS is to me, and although I have M's, J's, and HL all close to me, the things they have here are things that none of those big box stores have. I wouldn't just order one or two items at a time; my orders from here usually run in the $70 range -- and I try not to order more than 3-4 times a year (although it was twice last month!) LOL

I really don't mind paying for shipping - beats paying for a babysitter so I can go to a LSS. But the catch about paying for shipping is that I always feel like I need to order a lot. It seems that shipping is the same whether I order 1 item or 20 items - shipping's always around $8.

If this site offered free shipping for purchases over $50, I'd order stuff a lot more often. I'll definitely keep my eye out for the 12 days of Christmas free ship day. That will definitely entice me.

And, uh, there are sites out there that have considerably LOWER prices on the same quality products as sb.com AND free/cheaper shipping. I fail to see your point about markup.

I live in Japan, so all my shopping is online. I'd pay $8 in a heartbeat. I'm on an Air Force base, and have an APO, so I do get USPS still, but UPS is out of the question. I'll be ordering here soon as long as they can ship to a PO box. Before the move, though, it had to be something special for me to pay shipping. I wouldn't drive out of town for something to avoid paying shipping, though. I just prefer to shop locally because I like to look at the product before I buy. The possibility of dealing with returns is what turns me off the most.

Same here. You really can't put a price on availability & awesome customer service!

(btw - $8 bucks = a sheet of stickers or a roll of adhesive outside of the states!)

Depending on the total cost of my order I don't mind paying the shipping costs! The closest decent LSS is over an hour's drive away.
I do prefer shopping in person as I like to see the product first, but I figure the cost of gas to drive out there will be the same amount of the shipping costs....and sometimes sb.com just makes me an offer I just can't refuse!!

well like right now I only want 2 bottles of glimmer mist.. 8 dollar shipping is a bit much for those two bottles. Then I want a pp pack that the store here does not carry.. so If I really want it I have to pay shipping yet again some place else..

Im not knocking the store or the site but we all have to make our dollars stretch
