What is a new to you technique or idea you want to remember and try on a page. Even a small new idea can make a difference. This is how I vary my pages.

I recently saw a layout where the tag was made out of a picture. I liked that for something different and hope to use it on a layout.

that's an awesome idea. I recently went to a scrap expo and one of the make and takes was a tag. They use a blunder brush to ink the tag, sprayed water on a stamp that was just a bunch of boxes, stamped either leaves or christmas trees (depending on which station you were watching)on them and embossed them. The water gave it such a dramatic effect. I have already tried it on one of my pages and it came out nice.

I like the stamp resist effect...I've just recently learned this and tried it and I really like the effect. I want to experiment more with the different colors of embossing powder and inks.

I just saw a tutorial on making your own buttons out of polymer clay. I'm going to try air dry clay instead though (the whole baking process for some reason intimidates me). But you basically roll out your clay, cut it, punch your thread holes in it, and either make impressions in the clay with something with texture on it, or you can stamp on it, or paint it, etc. Let dry and seal it if you want for a shiny look. You can of course customize it to match your layout. I want to try that. I think with it being air dry clay it will be much more lightweight than polymer clay (and again, no baking involved!).

I bought a kit that customizes your brads. It's not the brad maker, but rather large brads with a place for you to put a circle of pp and a clear top. I think it should look nice.

I saw that too in my latest sb magazine. They made tags for Christmas gifts using pics of the recipient, so it was easy to see who the gift was for instead of trying to find the names - I thought that was a great idea and if I get time am going to try it out

Love it just a thread of new techniques...I'm working with aluminum tape over chip board to give a lifted metal look. I saw the clay buttons and plan to try that this weeken. I have no idea what I am going to use it for but I thought this MUDD PUDDLES stuff looked like a neat thing to try...

I saw your tutorial on the metal title. I went out and bought aluminum tape to try this...but couldnt find any of that netting stuff you used.

I got the netting from Home Depot in the drywall area...it's drywall tape...Also I bought in x-mas area of Dollar General a ribbon that looks just like it but it had a second layer of gold. It was 12 yards for $5.

That mud paste would be great on a beach LO or a golf LO with sand traps.

About the polymer clay... I took a clay class at J's one time and the teacher told me that the crayola stuff was actually flammable! Polymer clay like Primo is not. Baking it is really easy, just use an alumium pie plate and bake low I think the temp is 200 or 250 for a very short period of time. This makes it a little lighter too, although it's really not that heavy to begin with.

I've just tried out making the paperbag flower I found of the swirlydoos.com site. I think mine came out ok but I know it would've been better if I had some glimmer mist.
I also saw a tutorial on Gabriellep's blog about how to make your own fabric flowers (really stunning). I can't wait to try these out. She also has a tutorial on how to make the most adorable rose buds using quilling. I tried them and used it on a birthday card I made for one of my daughters friends.

OFF TO BUY SMOOCHES... I love working with clay so the buttons we'r fun 'cause my son even helped. I learned a lot like white clay dyed with food color WILL stain your hands

I want to try masking...haven't done that yet! I know it's been around awhile.
