Question about chipboard and grungeboard

How do you ladies cut chipboard and grungeboard? I found some fabulous 12x12 prima chipboard in my stash and would love to use it but I'm unsure how to cut it. Can the cuttlebug or other dies to cut through it? What are your best methods?

I am not sure the cuttle bug dies will be able to cut through it. but the Sizzix dies can cut through thicker chipboard. if the chipboard is not too thick the cuttlebug may be able to do it.

I'm not swearing to this but I heard the Tim Holtz dies are supposed to cut chipboard and grungeboard.. they have thicker metal blades is what I read on another board... and since Tim is all about chipboard and grunge board it would figure I think.

cricut with the deep cutting blade can cut chipboard just not super thick.

I use my cricut and repeat the same cut several times. Also, most punches will go through the thinner chipboard (if you are wanting a basic shape).

I haven't cut grungeboard with my Cuttlebug, but I have embossed it.

I've used my Sizzix or my craft knife. I haven't tried my cricut yet.

I've used the deep cut blade on my cricut for cutting thin chipboard (and I mean thin... like cereal-box thin). Thicker chipboard, I use the die-cutting machine at my LSS (I think it's AccuCut).

I believe Tim Holtz makes Scissors that cut his grungeboard. I seem to recall seeing him use them on his blog during xmas.

as far as diecutting goes though, the original Sizzix dies work *great*. just not the sizzlits or other thin dies. you could try a cuttlebug die but I would only try the grungeboard or thiner CB because they are not very deep. if the machine feels like it is really struggling to get the die through you shouldn't push it.

Cuttlebug can cut through grungeboard and grungepaper, if you use cuttlebugÂ´s own dies.
Qk dies are not for thicker materials!

I think this truly depends on what you consider 'chipboard.'

The stuff I have is like wood. VERY THICK! I have some heavy scissors, and those won't even cut it very well. It leaves a frayed edge.

If you're talking about cereal-box weight, then the above suggestions are probably great.

I admit don't have any cutting machine, so I have no idea what any of them are capable of.

I use my cricut to cut chipboard all the time. Multi cut needs to be used but it works with the normal blade.
