Say what?! A mini album/Toilet Paper Rolls?

I hope it's okay to share this on here since it's from another site but I just come across this and after I got done laughing, I thought it was a really cool idea.

If the person who thought of it is on these boards and reads this, please - don't be offended because I said "after I got done laughing", it's just that I never expected that. :-)

It reminds me of my mom [grandmother but she raised me and my brothers], she used the empty toilet paper rolls to put crocheted Christmas candles over.

Thanks for clearing up a question in my mind about these! I've read where people made these, but somehow, I couldn't quite imagine what they looked like LOL! Such a neat idea!

Great way to recycle .... but it reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where George had to buy the expensive art book because he took it into the bathroom, lol.

Hey, we had those candles. I thought they were so cute. LOL

I remember in grade school we would save the TP rolls for art class. I forget what all we made with them. This book is cute and I would never know it was out of TP rolls.

I love the idea - I saw it awhile ago! I have been saving the rolls all year for my Brownie troop as their "Bridging" Gift. I am going to make little mini albums for each of them, with pictures from their years together as Brownies. Also, I have stamped with the ends of the roll, and also dipped them in paint to make circles on my pages. Cute idea!

My LSS had a class in which we made these. They are super cute and always get a laugh, especially from family and friends who think paper crafters are weird.

if anyone is interested I have lots of empty toilet paper rolls, I was wanting to make one of those but I never got around to it...besides there is not enough room for me to scrap on those lil things...

Leslie, thanks for the offer but for myself - I ended up having another idea and am trying it for now [if it turns out, I'll share it with ya'll but if not then I won't look too stupid if I don't say anything yet. ha! ha!]

Just had a thought, wouldn't it be funny if someone wanted the toilet paper empty rolls and when you went to the post office, they were to ask you what it was you were mailing? LOL

OK, I work in a hotel, LOL,,,,I went and investigated the bathrooms in the lobby (ew on the men's room!!!) and found enough empty ones to make one of these babies

Emma, great tutorial ... now I've just gotta collect some empty rolls!

I'm going to make mine today after sleep (I worked all last night),,,,,I've got the rolls sitting under a book and a heavy brick right now, getting as flat as possible. I'll post when I'm finished with it Dee

Do you know how many/how far "toliet germs" spread when you flush? I don't think I would want an album made out of something that resided so close to the commode.....

Germs don't live very long on dry objects. I wouldn't worry about it.

I doubt it. The number of germs that 'may' get on the INSIDE cardboard of the toilet paper? Probably not many.
I bet you get more germs from touching the doorknob.

I think it's been shown that there are actually more germs and bacteria in your kitchen sink than in the toilet.

I lightly misted mine with sanitizing spray, just because I got them at a hotel,not my own house. Dried lickity split. Probably didn't need it though, whoever said germs die quickly on dry objects is correct.
