Fatmax tool box reviews?

i was just at a scrap and saw a lady with a great tool box set up - i searched it out and it is by stanley and called the fatmax - really neat feature - it opens up and the wheels move back to support the weight so all of the trays layer and your tools are all visible and easy to get at - it is big but i think i will get one just for the help organizing when away from home. anyone using one?

My husband uses one of these for all of his r/c car stuff. It is pretty darn nice for keeping things out in the open, but it really depends upon your needs. There is A LOT of room in the bottom compartment, but I'm not sure if it would actually fit 12x12" paper (I'd have to go measure, but that's something to consider).

BTW, have you scrapped any r/c lo's? I should go check your gallery. It's so hard to find that kind of thing, besides checkerboard paper...

I use to have one for my beads when I would do a show. Decided it took up too much room in my booth. Sold it in an auction a few months ago and now wish I hadn't. They are great!

There is a gal that crops at my LSS that has one. She can get some serious stash in that thing.

mom24g -- My DH says that you wouldn't be able to fit 12x12" paper laying down in any of the portions of the box, however, if you don't mind it standing on end, it would fit in the big compartment at the bottom. He says his 8x14" sandpaper fits in it tall ways, but standing upright.

angie girl -- I have I think one r/c layout in my gallery. I do have several racing layouts for cars and karts, though. I use checkerboard paper, Cosmo Cricket's Halfway Cafe, and I also had found at one point diamond plate and silver flame papers.

thanks all - great tips, it is definately big but the nice big wheels seem to move easily and i drive a mini van, the bottom compartment seems like it would work will with file folders and you would be able to flip through them. i went and checked them out at can tire = i believe i will get one (watching for a sale). i am so messy at scraps i figure it would help me contain my stuff but still keep it where i can get at it. and to take to sams house for scrapping...lol...

i did not check home depot or kent building but at canadian tire they were $114 regular price - i am watching for a sale...

I have the Fat Max and also a Plano that I got at Menards. My favorite is the Plano the bottom of it holds a bunch of 12x 12 paper and the top to levels are easier to get in and out of.

I still love my Fat max so now when I go to a crop I take both of them.

Oh and forgot to say that the Plano at menards is $54 lots cheaper than the Fat Max

I have one that's like the bottom part of the fat max for my beads. LOVE that thing! I can CRAM it FULL! ALL my beads live in it!

I thought about getting the fat max but I figured that by the time I got it filled up I wouldn't be able to lift it. The one for my jewelry lives under the pool table in my game room. The fat max is pretty big and would take up too much space in my scrap room that doubles as a spare bedroom. I DO LOVE the idea tho!
