Storage for Tim Holtz Ink Pads

Hi Ladies, I would like to know about your experience with the Best Craft Organizer - PortaInk Standard Case Could I use this organizer for the Tim Holtz Inks Pads? Thank you so much for your help.

Thank you for your answer. I do the same but is a mess every time that I have to use them and look for the right color.

ah. what about labeling the side of each container? so when you're looking for them it's easier.

I tried that also but I have the 36 colors and is a little bit time consuming look for the right color...
I would love to be able to have them in a ink pad storage but the only that I found online was so expensive.

I can never get my lids to stay on those things I just store them upside down on a shelf, and limit the number I have.

Holly I keep my lids on with colored hair ties that are the same color as the ink... they don't stack very well, I have a nice wobbly ink tower going but at least the lids stay on

I don't have good system either, so I'm hoping someone sees this and comes to help.

I use ribbon storage containers for mine. (Got the idea from an LSS owner, so not my original idea.)
It's a Crop in Style ribbon organizer, I just don't use the ribbon holder inserts. The pads stack nicely, although you can't see the ones near the bottom. I stack mine with matching colors together so I know what's near the bottom.

It takes two of these to store all my TH pads.

I have an old wooden shelf I got at goodwill that I stack them in... I labeled the edges with dymo tape, so I can see the names at a glance and grab the one I want.

Some people use old casette tape holders for their TH inks. Cheap and green -- reuse!

I store all my ink pads in an old napa valley cassette holder i got off ebay.. the inserts are tight enough to where i can store them upside down and they dont slide around.. then i have lables on them so i know exactly which one is which!

Don't look at the dust, but here's the old wood thing I use with dymo labels so I can pull the one I want easily while hanging on wall... Price was right... .50 cents

The reinkers -- dwelch made this thing for stickles that you might be able to modify for reinkers...

I use the smallest size craft bags they sell at walmart (50 or 100 for less than a dollar) and write the color on them with a sharpie.

I was trying to figure that out myself. I'm using the color swatch charts from the Ranger website. I decided (since they're in a nice grid) to number each color of ink. On the back of each foam pad (the blue part) I wrote the corresponding number. Now, I just need to get the right number so I use the right foam pad every time.

I came up with this and what do I use this morning to spread around some ink? My finger! I have orange fingertips now! lol

I've seen several people put velcro on the bottom of the ink pad to attach the foam pad so it's with the ink pad. I like this idea - but still have to do it!!

Or, for lazy folks like me, maybe a rubberband keeping the two together? Would have the added benefit of preventing lids from their tendency to come off.

I also use an old cassette tape holder on my desk. I got it at the Salvation Army Store for $3. I then labelled all of my Tim Holtz, pigment, Versamark and other inks on the side with a label maker. I have over 60+ ink pads stored this way in full view and handy to grab at my desk. Plus nice little cubbies for quick "hold this" moments!

I use the clear acrylic makeup organizers on my tabletop and to store my inkpads, ink applicators, stickles, and whatever current stamps I'm using. The 12x12 with squares is perfect for the ink pads, and the lipstick holders are perfect for stickles and reinkers. I bought the tiered lipstick holder at The Container Store first and loved it so much I started bargain hunting for more accessories. Best of all, they stack together so you can stay space savvy.

I used to have mine on picture rails. I loved that solution. I have an old photo when they were just a few, but you get the idea:

I needed the space for other stuff so I bought some ink pad holders from Holland, designed for distress ink, and made this one:

ItÂ´s full now with all 36 colours, just havenÂ´t updated the photo.

I use baseball card sleeves, and write the color on with a sharpie.

my distressed inks are all stacked on my shelf (some 20 or so of them) all labled on the side as to what color they are ... that seems to be the key, i have two that aren't clearly labled and im always wondering which one is the one i want ....
