Need help with new to me embellishments

I spent a ton of time today at Michael's and picked up a wide variety of things to use as embellishments.

One of the fun things I found was in the bead clearance section. They had beads that are metal and had Mom, Dad, Sister, Brother, etc stamped on them. I also found some pendents that have Family, Love, Courage, etc with an plastic coating over it.

My question is first, are these safe to use as embellishments as it relates to archival quality? Second, how would you attach them? I plan to try brads but if the holes are not large enough I will have to adhere them somehow. What would you use for something heavy?

I have not really used any embellishments in the past, just stickers. Trying something new.

I have used these three things for a variety of sticking needs. They each have their own pros and cons... tombo is great, but needs time to dry. glue dots are fabulous, but need enough surface to stick. and waxy flax is handy for stringing and sewing if it isn't too heavy...

Glossy accents is a VERY strong adhesive which I use for a lot of different items.

I also vote for glossy accents, super strong and us what I use for all my embellies, heavy or light

Use Glossy when I stick down metal it will hold it tight!

I make jewelry for craft shows, and one thing I love to do on my scrapbook pages is actually use a bit of jewelry wire or twine or even the elastic stuff and attach the jewel to a page so it can dangle- you can use those just like you would any fiber, sew them on, tie them on, glue them on, whatever. Its fun because you get this neat dangly gem or charm.
