what is your oldest tool or supply you are still hanging on to?

so with all this talk of purging or using up older stash, i thought it would be fun to see what oldie-but-goodie everyone is holding on to?
for me, its a border buddy from ek success. i know i last used it on a layout back in 2007, when die-cut papers were just coming out and options were limited. well, when i was moving stuff around this weekend i came across it again and saw that the packaging still had the hl 1999 price tag on it. i was happy to come across it again and hope to use it soon.
the below is from the last time i used it in case some of you newer enthusiasts are unfamiliar with it.

My oldest tool is probably my Quickutz dies. I bought my first large set in 2004 I believe. I rarely use them but I just can't seem to part with them!

My oldest tools are my CM personal trimmer, scissors, and markers from 2001. I have cut 1000s of pictures with that trimmer and it still works. The markers work like the day I brought them home.

my oldest tools are also from CM ... scissors and personal trimmer. The trimmer is still the most useful tool on my desk ... so much easier to crop photos with it than with a larger trimmer.

I still have paper in my stash from 2004-2005, lots of Sizzix dies from 2002, and a rather great corner rounder I've had since at least the summer of 2001.

The must-have deco scissors (the kids have them in their scrap box) and the CM shapes, including stars, hexagons and wavy ruler!

My red sizzix machine along with a bunch of the Sizzlits alphabets and the deco scissors. Can't seem to part with any of them.

my oldest tool is regular scissors with bee handles I got in the 3rd grade, almost 20 years ago. they still cut great so i keep using them.

I just found my sticker collection from um.... 1980? And the smelly stickers STILL SMELL!

The oldest tool I use is old red. Love that paperweight of a machine. It's mostly used for smashing stuff these days tho.

My first purchase was a scrapbooking kit I found in WalMart which incuded an album, papers, some die cuts, a marker, a decorative scissor, a glue stick, and some foam dots. The album has been used along with some of the paper. But I still have the scissors, the glue stick, marker, and foam dots from '07

I was a CM Consultant in 1999, and I still have my same scissors (I had hundreds of them!), but I upgraded to the newer personal trimmer when those came out, 2005ish, but I do still have the original, and it works better than the new ones!

some flower punches I bought 3 years ago when I started scrapping LOL.

I do still use them occasionally, although I have much better options today for flower making

but every now and again,,,,,,I find a use for them,,,,,so for now, I won't get rid of them.

Oh yes - the CM corner rounder too - LOVE that thing.

Scrapping since '99.

It would be my 12" grey fiskars trimmer, which was one of my first "big" purchases. Still use it for crops. I've stock-piled a bunch of blades because they are harder to come by for that old trimmer.

I also have my CM cutting system & corner punch. I have the original corner rounder and the upgraded one that holds the punched pieces. Still use the circle cutter tons & corner rounder occasionally.

My Cutterpede trimmer was among the first scrapbook related items I received as a gift. Not only is it pretty old, it's broken.

I've replaced it with 3 different trimmers, only to dig it back out of the trash.

Speaking of trimmers

I had the gray Fiskars 12 in cutter for many years. I finally bought a newer Fiskars last year because I was tired of getting uneven cuts and the new one has the feet that fit in the grooves.

Anyway, I pulled out the new trimmer to cut DS's school pictures when my parents were visiting this weekend and my dad was impressed and said he needed to get one of those to cut his vacuum sealer bags quicker. So I pulled out my old one and gave it to him. I'll have to check to see how it's working for him and make a note to pick up some extra blades.

reading through these is bringing back the memories ... i too still have "big red" sizzix machine and my cm circle cutter but since i got them in 2005 i still consider them "newish" purchases, lol.

and speaking of the cm circle cutter, i will never part with it! i think i have at least 3 other circle cutters i purchased since and none of them ever worked as well (makes me wonder why i don't just get rid of them but that would be why its called hoarding, i guess). that is definetely an "oldie but goodie".

Although, I did go through holiday paper kits and give them to one of our third grade teachers.

Okay, this just inspired me to go through and do a small dump. I'm sure I'd have never used the stickers anyway.

Let's see, where do I begin. Of course I have all the decorative scissors, ump-teen hundreds of punches, several cutters with worn out blades, a drawer full of plastic shape templates, paper from the 90's, dried up ink pads, several old marker sets and gel pens that never worked for me, foam stamps - lots of foam stamps that I bought and didn't use. If I went through my drawers, I could probably list more, but I think you get the point.

My mom still has her grey Fiskars. By the time I got mine they had moved on to the Triple-Track style, which you can still easily buy.

Ugh, foam stamps.

I throw out dead gel pens though.

My oldest scrapbooking tools are my CM cutting system, the mat, and CM paper cutter. I went to a CM party years ago-1999 I believe, and bought these CM tools. I was hooked instantly. I have gotten so much use out of them. They are out and used every time I scrap. I always laugh because my CM supplies get a lot more use than any Pampered Chef product I've bought. Guess I scrap a bit more than I cook-LOL!!

Everything! But I am partial to my wood stamps, deckle scissors and markers.

I think my deco edge scissors win this prize for oldest suviving tool. I got them in the mid 90's and still reach for them every once in a while!

LOL!! I just donated my 4 or 5 border buddy's last fall!!! I still use my eyelet setter every now and then, and I love using my Coluzzle circle cutter. I don't use the square or alphabet Coluzzle at all, need to donate those eventually. I still have plenty of decorative edge scissors, my Zig pen collection (in regular AND callegraphy tips, of course, LOL) and even a few stray Mrs Grossman's sticker sheets (taken from rolls at my now-closed LSS). I actually still have lots of the first collections Doodlebug put out, too.

And my old trimmer has a happy new home - it works well for my parents to cut their food sealer bags. I will buy a few more blades for them. I'm glad it is being used and it's one less thing going unused in my stash.

I love my sizzix machine... I still use it. Although that may change now that I have a slice machine.. sigh

It didn't for me - it doesn't for a lot of people. I have a Sizzix Big Kick and a Cricut Personal and I love them both and get a lot of use out of both of them.

Mine would be my very first paper trimmer I bought from Creative Memories over 8yrs ago! I still love to use it versus my new Fiskars 12x12 trimmer when I'm cutting something small.

My fiskars grey trimmer, and my red sizzix machine - still use them both!
As I scrap, I find that I have not purged very much, if at all! I use older supplies for scrap or combining old papers when I have a creative block.

I still have some of the first stuff I bought in 97 at CM.

I think I have almost all of the stuff that's been mentioned above...oh my, too much stuff, lol! I think my oldest purchase would have to be my grey Fiskars trimmer. I've also been stashing blades for it! An oldie, but goodie!

I still have the deco scissors that I got at Ms when I first started. I also have the plastic shape templates and QuickKutz. I don't use the QuickKutz handle/press thingy anymore but I use the dies with my Sizzix BigShot.
I gave the shape templates to my son for his craft box and I'm thinking of donating the scissors.....

I think the oldest tool I own is my Fiskars "threading water" border punch. I only started scrapping in 2008 and was so happy when I discovered how people got that cute scalloped edge with the little holes in it! I hardle ever use it now I have a big collection of MS punches.

I donated my big red sizzix a year or so ago to a crop for the cure, but I still have a ton of old old sizzix dies and I know I have some of the very first basic grey that came out. I've got one or two sheets I don't' want to use.

I've also got some very old paper from the early 80's

I have that CM corner rounder too...always seem to use that.
I keep holding on to that stapler thing...I dont know why...I've never used it...but I keep moving it around. Have some colored staples for it..and some bar staples..just never seem to find a place to use it. I can't even remember what it's called

I have been scrapping since 2004. I just uncovered my coluzzle last night. I still have my red sizzix, my paddle punches, my blue quickutz squeeze, deco scissors and old mini shape hole punches...my fiskars shape boss

I still use my cm corner rounder, my old kma papers, and all my old punches.

I am still using many things others have mentioned. I love my sizzix! But I do have papers that are maybe 10 or more years old, but I stocked up when I worked at a paper store years ago. Still use them and still love the colors! I am not a purger either. I use what I have and will occasionally decide to get rid of something, But it's rare!! I mean if I use it, that's not hoarding, right??
