Made in the USA

Is there a way to tell which products on scrapbook.com are made in the USA?

You could look at the manufacturers's own websites perhaps?

I'm glad to see someone asking this question....One way to find out would be to look on embellie packs since papers only have a barcode.

I end up spotting it on the product post-purchase. I know Cosmo Cricket is noted as Made in USA.

Why is it so important where is it made?

I'm not sure why the original poster is asking, but...

I think, especially in these economic times, it is important to support local business as much as possible.

I think it's very important to some people to stop supporting foreign made products in an effort to show support for American businesses that manufacture their products on our soil.

I try to,,,,,but some things that I love are just not made here,,,,nor do they have any equal products here,,,,,,LaBlanche stamps for one, are made in Germany, and nobody makes a similar stamp in the US.

Agreed. But if there was a local manufacturer, then you'd want to support them rather than buy the same thing from China for example, wouldn't you?

Quite apart from supporting local businesses, there's the issue of air-miles and shipping fuel being wasted.

This is such an interesting question ... I support my local LSS, but have never thought to question where the products themselves are being made

Anyway, I was just working with some Fancy Pants papers and they all say 'Made in USA' on the cut off strip

I was looking at some papers tonight while making a card - the Bazzill I have is made in USA, and the Core'dinations I have is made in China.

BasicGrey has "Made in the USA" right on the label. So does Pink Paislee.

Oh NO!! I just looked on my BoBunny Midnight Frost products and they say Made in China! They are (were) my favorite company.

Paper Studio from Hobby Lobby looks like everything is a China product.

I've also noticed that a lot of JoAnn's products are made in China especially K & co.

I'm not saying that I won't ever buy a Made in China product, but I'm going to try and buy from companies that employ people here.

I used Beacons 3 in 1 advanced craft glue and their products are made in the USA as well. It is the only glue I use and I appreciate the fact that they are an American made product. I tried the glue in the first place because it said made in the USA on the bottle.

I think it is something I've only been vaguely aware of though I think I will make more of an effort to pursue American made. When I am playing in my scrap space, I plan to take a better look at things. Good thread!

I use Beacons 3 in 1 also....love it and glad it is made in the USA.

If you want to put your clothing stores in a sping; walk in and tell them you are only interesting in Made in USA products...not a lot in some stores.

Betsey, their sight has many types of glues. Im sure they do. I can not remember off the top of my head... but I was suprised at the list of types of glue they make.

WRMK used to be. I saw on a thread that some of their stuff is not now but I am not sure which of their stuff is & is not.

Our cricut stuff is made in china.

I live in a town where Hershey left us and it devastated our small town. I would hate to not support the product lines that stay here..I will pay extra for that support.. simply to keep the jobs for the people that have them.

I really love this THREAD!! I'm being more consious of what I buy. I live in a really tiny town and just down the mountain we have grocery store chains local to our area. One of them is closing out now because they couldn't compete with Walmart 2 exits down. It makes me sad all those people I know are losing their jobs. So, I am making more of an effort to check before I buy. I buy most of my craft supplies online. It's hard to know for sure about some of those. But, if I go to the store, I will be checking.

I am a big buyer of Made in the USA/Canada ( I like to support both sides of my family)

I just bought a new pair of New Balance shoes and they came with a made in the USA tag!!! So very exciting!

Yeah, I am so excited to see I am not alone in wanting to buy products from the USA! Thanks for the nice start on the list, our community is so personal that we can affect change here. In addition I feel like a lot of the scrapping products that are made here are of better quality, especially stamps!

Hopefully provo craft will get on the band wagon about that one too.

Now if someone would start in on the pet market.....Its hard to find dog toys that are 100% USA made!

Just looked and Glue Arts is American made as well

I will add Glue Arts to my list. I'm going to make a blog post about it sometime and keep up with a running total.

I did verify all the Bo Bunny products I have say made in China.

Also...found in my looking today that some of the ones I had on my list have now closed and are no longer open. That's very sad to me.

ok, so I got some more responses from companies and updated the list on my blog

Also...I checked my american crafts products lastnight...made in China.

Sad that AMERICAN crafts are made in China. I'm going to start looking at my items more closely.

October Afternoon, Authentique and Websters Pages are MADE IN THE USA !

I looked at some of My Minds Eye and it says Made in China. I looked at Basic Grey Opaline Bling and it too was Made in China. Creative Imaginations paper and stickers are printed in the USA but the chipboard and embellies are made in China.

Well, That makes me sad too because I have some paper older basic grey says made in usa...but my other stuff...says China. Updating the blog post too with other stuff I've found today.

Don't know about the Reminisce will see if I can find out.
