Anyone working on anything this week & weekend?

My husband has gotten hamburgers there and found a big slice of red beet on top of it. Didn't make him happy.

Christchurch is still beautiful. It breaks my heart to think of them demolishing it. We were there about 2 weeks before the last earthquake that did so much damage. There is a scrapbooker here who has done fabulous layouts of the earthquakes in Christchurch. THey really show the devastation and her pictures and journaling really chronical what she and her family went through.

Melbourne is awesome! We went to the zoo there a couple months ago - in November. What fun. We also went to the Victoria Market - is that what it is called? I haven't scrapped it yet. My husband bought bright flourescent green and flourescent orange socks. I do not know why but they are good when he is on the bicycle or Segway at night.

RIght now I wish I could go to the Fish House on the beach on Bondi near Sydney and order their fish and chips. I've gone there twice and eaten them and they are the best I've ever had!

Yes, in hamburgers too. And we have eggs and pineapple in burgers. Do you?

It is still beautiful, and makes me so happy to hear someone else say that! Do you know what scrapper it was? I really want to do some earthquake lo's but I'm kind of intimidated. It will be so emotional and I want them to be perfect.

When we first go over, my family are coming for 2 weeks for a holiday. We are going to the zoo as well And the Victoria Market, I haven't been there in awhile.

SOme specialty hamburger places have an Hawaiian burger with pineapple but that is rare.

BIll has gotten burgers with eggs on them in NZ and AUstralia but I haven't.

I think I know who's layouts they are - I will check to make sure and come back and tell you. Her's are very inspirational!

It is chile chicken - look in her gallery in the "albums" and there is one called "earthquake album". It is quite moving and she journals a lot and includes pictures and information.

myabe I'm just not ready to do it yet...it will come to me when I am though! I have what I need to put it all together, it's just about waiting for the perfect idea to strike and also about being able to complete it without crying haha!

I love pickled beets and beets in general, so finding them on a sandwiches was a shock, but just another way of eating beets for me. I grew up eating Cold Beet Soup and Hot Beet Soup (like borscht). I also make a beet salad. Also cooked shredded beets, that we eat with mini meatloaves. All part of the Lithuanian cuisine. I remember having pizza with beets at a Pizza Hut. I just can't remember if it was in NZ, Australia or Fiji.

I have a friend who has been living in Adelaide for close to three years on a three year job assignment. He is due back in the States in early December. I envy all who travel and or live there. It is such a beautiful part of the world.

Oh and..... my fundraisers are DONE!!!!!! Now to do some serious scrapbooking. I am finishing up all of my swap items this week. Scrapping the recent events of 2012 and then working my way back. I am so excited, I can't wait til DH goes to work, then I can sneak to my corner of the basement and start working on it. I need to clean our house and he's been on my case, so I have to wait til he leaves. ARGH!

It was probably here, or Australia I must admit when I get pizza I go to the same place and get the same thing, force of habit! I know I like it so it's a safe choice haha.
It is beautiful, but it's the same for us. I have several friends and family members in the States, mostly around Cali, Oregon and Colorado. I would love to visit!! It's my dream...I reeeally reeeally want to visit NYC! It's my ultimate dream holiday location.
My boyfriend's brother just took our two nephews for a month long trip around the States, jealous would be an understatement for me lol.
Yay for more scrapping!!! Must feel good to have all the fundraisers sorted I know how you feel. The last month or so my boyfriend has been staying at his parents so he can pack all his things and spend some time with them, it means I can spend all my spare time scrapping and not have to pack it up before he gets home! Almost heaven lol.

WHen were you in Fiji? We had a great time there last year! Nice little island. WE were on a lot of South Pacific islands but I think that is the one where every says BULA BULA all the time. What fun!

I went to Australia for a Lithuanian World Youth Conference. I was a junior in college and was able to go for 6 weeks. My professor/dean/advisor spoke to all of my professors and they allowed me to take my finals a week earlier so I can go for 6 weeks. The conference took place all over Australia and lasted for 4 weeks. Then I spent a 1 week traveling New Zealand and 1 week traveling Fiji. It was scary in Fiji, because they just had a coup a month before I went there. I loved Fiji. It was the perfect place to relax before going back to the States and back to school.

Whoa that's so cool! I have only been to Australia and I have travelled all over New Zealand. I can't wait to travel the world!

I can't wait to go to Europe. We keep putting that trip off every year. We are hoping to go to Lithuania and Germany next summer.

I can't decide where I want to go first..I just want to go everywhere all at once lol.

My best friend was a counsellor at a camp in Pennsylvania last summer, I would like to do that.

In the Pacific we travelled from Seattle and went to Honolulu and then to Mauii and I don't remember the order but we went to French Polynesia, Tahiti, Bora Bora, Western Samoa and Pango Pango in AMerican Samoa (even got a driver's license from there - a real one), Fiji and I'm drawing a blank where else. THen 4 places in New Zealand and then to Sydney. From there we went to Hawaii for a while then on home.

In 2010 my oldest son told me, "Mom, my fiance was born in Germany and hasn't been back since her family left when she was 2. We have tickets to go but I'm concerned. I've never been out of the country and I don't speak German.

I said, "John, do you want Bill and me to go with you?"

He said, "Would you? Especially since Bill speaks fluent German - that would be good."

I told him I would talk to Bill. He said we weren't going to Germany and coming home but he would work something out.

The next day he told me he had reservations for us to fly to Puerto Rico and stay 4 days. Then he book a cruise for us from Puerto Rico to the 3 of the Canary Islands and then to Cadiz Spain and ending up in Barcelona Spain.

He said we would spend 4 days there and then we had a flight to Germany where we would spend 10 days with the kids. He had rented a wonderful Mercedes mini-van so the four of us would be comfortable.

From there the kids were flying back to Georgia and we would be flying home to Florida from Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany. We would be gone a total of less than 2 months.

However, it didn't work that way. We left Ramstein and flew to Dover Delaware. I wanted to spend the night there so I could hang out with Raquel (flightobl on the boards) for a day which was fine. Then we flew from Dover to Langley Virginia. The plan was to go over to Norfolk and be home that night.

But.... when we were getting off the plane in Langley Bill asked the pilot where that plane was going next and he said it was going to Hawaii. Bill told him we were going to Hawaii too.

So instead of going home, we flew to Hawaii for 3 weeks on the way.

Talk about jet lag. From Germany to Dover Delaware which was 11 hours. One day to rest then a 10 flight to Hawaii.

It was a cool flight though. We were on a C-17 cargo plane which is my favorite becuase we can put our air mattresses in the cargo section with our blankets and sleep the entire flight.

However, the plane was accompanying about 8 of the new fighter planes to Hawaii, then on to Guam.

The fighters only hold one person so all the back up people, flight crews, mechanics, and everyone else having anything to do with the fighters as well as all their equipment and gear was on the plane.

Someone told us we could not go to Hawaii, the plane was full - no room anywhere.

The pilot stepped up when they were telling us that and said, "I told this couple I would take them to Hawaii and I'm going to do it. I'll find room for them."

He did - we rode all the way to Hawaii in the jump seats in the cockpit while escorting 8 new fighter jets! What views out the window of the cockpit. Especially for take off and landing! I loved it! We were so comfortable - it was a great trip!

But - most of our trips are a little unconventional.

Omigosh that sounds so exciting!!! What an adventure! I hope I get to experience things like this too It sounds so amazing..

In New Zealand we went to Dunedin (loved the Cadbury factory, boy did we eat chocolate and I love the railroad station!) Went to Wellington where we rented a bicycle built for two. It was great once - don't want to do it again.

We went to Christchurch and spent a lot of time in the beautiful church and Auckland. We walked around a little bit in Auckland but it was rainy.

Next time Bill wants to take me to see the glowworm caves.

Its actually very easy for us to get to Australia and we've been on two cruises that ended there.

In AUstralia we've been to Perth, Exmouth, Melbourne and Sydney twice. I know there was somewhere else in Australia but I'm drawing a blank.

My favorite travelling story is from Goa India. We became friends with another couple from out table at dinner and started doing the shore excursions with them.

In Goa India we decided to share the cost of a cab and design our own tour. Linda did her homework and had a laundry list of things she wanted to see and we were all happy to work from her list.

WHen you get to the area where the cabs are lined up the drivers all speak to you in a little English to show off thier skills with the ENglish language. They all know that the more they can converse in English, the more tourists they will be able to drive around so they try really hard to make you think they are conversant in English. They aren't conversant at all.

The four of us got in a cab of a driver who seemed to do pretty well speaking English when we were in port but we knew his English wasn't really great, it was okay. We hoped.

Bill was in the front seat with our driver - Xavier. Bill, Marc and me were in the back seat.

Linda started showing the driver her list and saying, "we want to see this temple."

Xavier said, "Yes ma'am, we go there."

"And I want to see this shrine."

"Yes Ma'am we go there too"

"ANd the thieves market, we really want to see that."

"Oh Yes ma'am we go there."

"And the antique district."

"Yes Ma'am we go."

Bill turned to LInda and said, "Linda, he doesn't understand one word you are saying. He isn't taking you to those places, he's just driving you around, mostl likely to carpet stores and places that belong to his relatives."

She said, "No Bill, he is taking us to those places."

Bill said, "Watch this Linda"

"Xavier, would you like to go to the vet and get put to sleep?"

"Yes sir, we go there."

I laughed until I hurt - we all did, even Linda. We laughed until we had tears!

That's hilarious.

Omigosh I started laughing out loud and everyone in the office looked at me funny! That is sooo funny!!! Did you get to see all the places?

Everytime we go to Dunedin we go to the Cadbury factory, it's tradition! Did you see Baldwin Street? The world's steepest street?

Ooh the glowworm caves in Waitomo? They're amazing!

Hopefully once we are settled in Melbourne we will be able to travel around Australia a wee bit. Between the two of us we have a lot of family scattered around the country!

Love the Cadbury factory and you have some things there we can't get in the states like the Dream bar. Wish we could get those here.

Hi guys, What are you guys doing today? I have been cleaning my scrap room. I did find my table. It does make me want to scrap. lol I cooked beef stew yesterday in the crock pot so I am not cooking today. Dave is going to fry 10 lbs of hamburger for the freezer. I have to work a bit too. I hope to e able to scrap asap.

I'm just sitting in our room on the air force reserve base in Homestead. Very very nice room but I'm by myself.

We did go to Everglades national park and I got a lot of alligator pictures - more to scrap! Before the last cruise I was caught up!

I'm just at work, second to last day!! I stayed up late last night and did some scrapping though Tomorrow might be my last day online for a couple of weeks so I'll have to upload my new lo's. We have another dinenr to go to tonight..this last week is going to be a blur!

Also, I love your Dunedin lo's Henri Jean! I'm just about to grab lunch but I'll be back in a few minutes to see if I can find mor of your NZ lo's

I am FINISHED!! I am guessing you guys are so tired of hearing me mention it. I am happy with it.

Wow those pages are awesome!!!!! Love them!! I love the border, you did a really good job of them! And the photos are cool anyway but the way you've laid them out looks mint I hope you're proud of it!

Tomorrow my husband and I are going shopping and out to eat for date night. The local Js has set aside an E2 for me (it's on sale and the real local Js is out). I can't wait to go pick it up and bring it home to play! The only real plans we have this weekend are our puppy's training class on Saturday, so I can play around and scrap all weekend long, YAY!

Lucky for you!!! I can't wait to see what you create with your E2 This is my last weekend 'proper' scrapping, we move next week so I have to be all packed up. I'm hoping to start an Australian stash though!

Hey guys, I am not ignoring you. I have been fighting a migraine tonight. My meds are working but it is still there somewhat. I have been moving pages from my last 3 strap hinge albums to top load. I do not need to think to do thaat. I have gotten pretty far (for me)

OH Ausra - you did some digging in my gallery to find the Australia stuff! The stuff in the gallery is from the 2010 trip. The 2011 Australia stuff is waiting to be scrapped. I had hoped to be finish with it before we leave for Las Vegas but we leave on Wednesday. This trip to Miami really put us back.

Homestead is just south of Miami, Florida - about 5 hours from where we live in Ocala. Everglades National Forest is in the Homestead area.

I finally got the 100+ cards all up loaded to my shop. my office is clean and I am working on quilling. i have to redo a few project that my little four legged helper got in to. they have been hard at work. I been sick most of the week just starting to feel like a human again . So to night i am working again. I am hopping to get a lot of new stuff done in the next few weeks. One of my best customer and good friend are coming in to town at the end of this month . \

Just a few years ago (ok, a few centuries ago :o) I had to dig into your gallery, because I was curious to see where you've been.... nosy? yes. Curious? yes. I hope you don't mind Henri Jean. Hey guys, I am sorry but I was kind of ignoring this thread for some time. I am so bad about getting anything done while I read these threads. I had 2.5 albums to switch left. I started them. I was moving pretty fast for me. I couldn't believe how much I was getting done. I thought I would not read this thread until I got pretty far. I am so bad about getting stuff done. It worked. LOL I only have 1/2 of an album left. I am so EXCITED!! I have been moving these for many months. I am frankly tired of it. lol I am almost there. WHOOHOO This had been a huge weight on my shoulders. Now I feel free!!:)

HI GUYS!!! I am so excited! My good friend & I are going to meet in the morning to crop. We have not been able to go for too long. I really need to go. I need scrappy friend therapy. lol

I am back to working on the kindergarten page. I am kinda excited about that. lol

working on quilled Jewelry and should have some up by the end of the week. Right now i am taking it easy hip and back are killing me. Just got home from taking mil shopping and still have to pick the guy up from work at 2:30 am so we should be home close to 3:30 am and then have to take the jeep in to the shop. I am going to end up sleep tomorrow after i get the guys to work until i have to pick them up. Have fun at your crop anda

we have been waiting a few month for a part for the jeep. It was nothing big they had it back to me by 3 pm . I love them for this. They can meet my crazy dead line, Since dh work so far from home and is one the worlds crazy shift right now.We dont have any other way for him to get back and forth to work. So they got everything they could done.. hip and back still hurts but a 3 hour nap in the chair made the pain go way for now. Will work for the next 20 mins till i have to feed the cats and my self.

I get to take Bill home from the hospital tomorrow morning (surgery is this afternoon) so he will chill and rest (I hope) and I am going to get a lot of scrapping time in this weekend.

Since we won't be going on the Las Vegas trip for a month (although we may fly out in a couple weeks to meet everyone but I don't think that will happen) I will get all my scrapping caught up in this past month.

I'm not disappointed about missing the trip becuase I want to be home for a while to get some things done.

I will be ready for trips again in a month or so but right now I just want to take care of Bill and work on my scrapbook.
