vellum and brads

Feb '04 Pear Tree

I am working on a LO. It is genealogy-related and I have lots of journaling. I want to print the journaling onto white vellum and attach the vellum to my paper. I plan to use brads in all four corners of the vellum. Do I need to use a two-sided vellum tape in addition to the brads. I have not had good luck with tape showing thru vellum and hoped to avoid using it at all.

Hmm,
I have used brads to attach my vellum to paper and that is all it needed. I think if all four corners and attached there is no need for tape..unless you want the vellum nice and smooth. i have been using vellum tape but havent tried the spray adhesive yet. Let me know what you try and PM me if it works! Thanks

When I use vellum, I normally use brads to attach it. I like the way it looks. Sometimes what I do is put a tiny dot of a glue pen right where I will put the brad to hold it down. Then I make a tiny hole and put the brad through. Other than that, I don't use any adhesive.

When I use brads or eyelets to hold down vellum I never use any adhesive with it.

brads are a dot with two little legs. You stick the legs through a little hole in the paper and bend the legs one to each side to hold it in.

eyelets are a short tube of metal. You need a hammer and a special setting tool to use them. The setting tool either splits or rolls the back of the eyelet and flattens it out.
