Masculine cards

I've been scouring the gallery, but just not finding anything to get my creativity flowing. Although this is a scrapbooking forum, I know many of you make cards. I'm just starting out in cards.

We have an acquaintance at church who is beginning radiation treatments. I want to make a card, but since he's not a close friend, I don't know his likes/dislikes...do all guys want a dog or horse on their card?

Just a card of "thinking about you" is what I'm trying to figure out.

If any of you have something in your gallery, it would be great if you'd point me in the right direction. There are a lot of cards in the gallery to go through! I can change things around...like maybe adapt a birthday card into what I want. I just need to get past the dogs and horses...Thanks~Judy

I don't do many masculine cards, but here are a few. Sometimes, you can just take a card e and change the color scheme.

Another idea (cheap, too!) is to use hardware type items like paint sample cards, washers, sandpaper, etc. This card isn't masculine, but you could adapt it.

Thanks! The TV one would fit most any guy, I would guess. I could do something like Breaking News, then inside something like "____ begins his journey back to health." I especially like the Back in the Saddle idea. It seems to fit the man I'm thinking of. Mind of I "borrow" it (or both)?~Judy

You could use some of the new graphic 45 Ladies Diary paper. Pion has gorgeous male papers aswell. Basic Grey has some good stuff aswell.

As I went to bed last night, I started laughing. It hit me that I had said "masculine without dogs or horses" and one of my favs of yours was Back in the Saddle...but the horse is missing

I think guy cards are probably the absolute HARDEST,,,,,I make 10 female cards for every male card I make,,,,if not more. Frustrating, to be sure! Hope this helps!!! Now I'm off to look at others, to get MORE ideas for the next one I make
