Glue gun - which is your favorite?

I have a basic pink glue gun. I hate it, it wont ever stand upright (because of the cord) when the glue does come out its huge globs.

Im wanting something with a precision tip, and something that will stand up when Im not using it. Or a place to buy a stand to make it stand up.

What is the difference between hot or low temp? For crafting which do we "need" I have a hot

This isn't an answer to your question exactly. I had a beloved glue gun that I used for everything for yrs. Last yr I got tired of the burned fingers. I saw a you tube video where someone used a glue that is like a glue gun. IT is clear. It is fast grab. It dries fast. It is acid free & waterproof. We were discussing it in another thread.

The Glue Gun I just got is an ACE Hardware brand. I LOVE it! It has the option for high/low temp. It stands up perfectly and it was very reasonably priced.

I bought the Imaginisce cordless glue gun. Hated the cord making it fall over or having to find a plug in.

now I need that cordless glue gun!!!!!!!!! I just bought an el cheapo low temp glue gun and it doesn't burn me,,

Cannot help you much on what's the best glue gun. The one that I have is a cheap one I got a long time ago at either Wally World or maybe ACMoore (can't remember now!). I hated the cord making it not stand up and always falling on my table so I bought a stand on eBay that hold an ATG gun and GlueGlider Pro. I figured if you have an ATG, just put it on one side and the other side for you Glue gun. Here is what I'm talking about:

The guy makes them and also makes a single stand if you ask him and the price is fair.

I bought the fine tip one at hobby lobby (heard about it somewhere). It has a plug and a little stand. You can unplug it from cord and use for awhile before it starts to cool. I think is was 7.99 at HL and I love it.

I've had it quite a while and haven't changed the battery yet. I don't use it for long periods at a time though. For sure not 2 hours like you mentioned.
I definitely wouldn't call it a battery hog.

I think you can find at the big box craft store that starts with a M ( not sure if allowed to mention other scrap stores by name)

I was jsut looking at hot glue guns and couldn't decide which to get so walked away hate the cheapie I have from Wally world it drips and sometimes is hot and melts well other times it doesn't work get hot enough and doesn't get the glue hot enough to have time to put a two piece item together.

I love this Ad-Tech glue gun. It can be cordless, but I leave it plugged in all the time and have found the value in it to be the "battery pack" that makes it stand upright. I could probably count on one hand the number of times it has dripped on my mat over the last 6 months... and I use it every single day. I think it's because it does stand upright and not angled on a stand. Good luck!

Sneezy I had the same problem with my pink 'el cheap O from J's -- same as wally sells! I did end up buying the ont posted above - not tryed it yet but I will soon.

I was torn between the 1 i got & the large one that had the 2 extra nosels to change out ... but this 1 won because it has a flat base LoL!

Out of curiosity ... do we (sb'ers or us into mixed media) need a hot glue?

What is the diffrence between us of them?

I don't really use my glue gun (a small cheapie one) enough to worry about it standing up. In fact, I really don't use it for scrappy stuff much...it rarely gets pulled out. I have used it on homemade flowers before, but it's rare. The cordless sounds cool though...does it get (& stay) hot enough?

Have you all seen the glitter glue to go in the guns? I have some silver, but have no idea where I got it...I've had it forever!

I use mine on mini's because it sticks so much better than scor tape and even red line.

I dont do glitter so thats a negitive on that

I didnt ever use a glue gun before -- but now that I have I am liking it ALL except the big hard glob's it makes at times. I will forever love my glossy accents & score tape

Is there some that holds as strong as the GG that doesnt harden in such lumps? Or is that something I need to work on since im new to the gun?
