I went outside this a.m. to take a photo of the progress on a small deck being built. My husband looked at me and said "is everything a photo op with you?" Silly man: I said, "YES, I scrapbook."

Great idea Linda....that will be a great layout.
I took step by step photos of my hubby's shed going up, from the slab going down to the first game of pool that took place in it.....the long awaited man cave!!!!!
That was 3 years ago, haven't scrapped them yet, I am always behind with my photos......

I take pictures of EVERYthing. Especially if it is something we're building. I think my hubs probably thought it was weird at first, but now it's to the point where he'll even ask me "do you want to take a picture of this?" because sometimes I forget. Or if I'm not there, he takes progress pics for me.

Mine does the same thing Vae - asks if I want pictures of everything! Yesterday he grabbed my camera and took pictures of our son on his unicycle and brought them in to me, "I know you would want to scrap this!"

He's learned also that in restaurants always pick up a take-out menu and anything else printed. And I want a picture of us at the table and a good shot from outside. If it is dinner the outside picture must be taken before it starts getting dark. He knows all this.

This may sounds silly, but be sure to zoom in and get a good photo of a close-up of his hands holding a hammer, or something similar. I would give a million dollars to have close-ups of my parents hands doing the things they loved to do. A close-up of my dad's hands holding his Bible (he was a minister) and one of him with a hammer (his trade was finish carpenter), my mom's hands cooking or on the piano keys, my husband's hands polishing his badge ... these are moments in time that will never come again for me. Seize the opportunity!

What a great idea! I never thought of that.

I am going to make it a point to get a picture of my son's hand as he plays the guitar!

My dad was always reading his Bible and I really would love to have a photo of that. In fact he died in 1993 and the Bible is still opened to the page he was studying the night before he was taken to the hospital.

I need to take time to read thoroughly. I read the last part of this as, "take a picture of this or get shot!" I also take pictures of everything, but "do it or get shot" sounded a bit extreme...but it made me re-read the post :>)

Love the hands idea. I've done it of parents' and babies' hands, but not so much the ordinary things of life.

Oh this is not silly at all...it is so touching...I think tears sprang to my eyes!! I am sooo doing this!!
