Dewdrops

I have expanded my need for ink and stamps...AGAIN!
I have most of the Distress Ink Pads and some of Rangers and Tuskineko StazOn's and Mementos pads. I even got a "tower" of cat eye shaped chalk inks.

Yesterday, I needed a particular color of ink. I found what I needed (plus a few more) in a pad from Tsukineko called Dew Drops.
These are dye inks. I notice that they can stand on their ends.
I have Tsukineko's Kaleidacolor ink pads but they do not stand on their edges like the dew drops.

Is this the proper way to store the pads? Or can I just slip them flat into my Portalink ink pad organizer?

If you want the ink to stay at the top part of the ink pad, you need to store them pad facing down. So the ink stays where you use it most and not against the pad and the plastic.

I have mine in floss organizer cases from walmart.

I use Stampin' Up inks and I store them with the label size up, because they are actually upside down when closed keeping the ink towards the surface.
I store my distressing inks right side up stacked because they are really wet and I have had one leak before.

^^ That, except that my inks aren't "Stampin' Up!"

I've stamped a small shape on a piece of white card using each one of my inks, and stuck it on the bottom of the ink pad. Then when I open my drawer I can see the colours without turning them up the right way.

Upside down so you have the ink "fresh" on top.

Tim Holtz addressed this in a video and said the ink is suspended in the pad. They do not need to be stored upside down.. nor do any other ink pads for the most part. I've found that my momento tiny ink pads do much better stored upside down. The dye small ink pads seem to dry out very quickly but I've had wonderful luck with chalk ink pads and prefer them for stamping sentiments.
