Can you add water to Making Memories Paint??

I went to use some of my making memories paint the other day and I noticed that it's extremely thick and hard to work with I was going to add water to it but I don't know if I can add water to them like I do my Tim Holtz Crackle paint. Does anybody know???

It is quite thick normally! I don't see why you couldn't add water. Just try it with a little amount before you add water to the whole bottle. They're a water base paint.

I had the same problem a while back, YES, add water, a little at a time until you get it the way you want it.

It's acrylic paint, which is water-based, so you can add water.

That being said, what a lot of scrapper's say they like about the MM paints is that they ARE thicker.

If you don't like the thickness, save yourself some money and get the cheap acrylic paints (Delta, Apple Barrel) from the craft store.

I've given up on the MM paints, way to thick for my style of 'painting'. I like it really liquidy for a translucent effect.

I do love dabbers and add water when I first open them. Much easier to dab/swirl/paint and the topper does not clog so much.

Yes! I just added water to my MM paints last week. I used a water spray bottle so that I wouldn't put too much in. I started with a few squirts and stirred it with a craft stick. Mine was fine after that but you could keep adding water and stirring it in. Hope this helps.

I probably would not add water to the bottle of paint.

I would squirt a bit of paint on a tray or paper plate and add drops of water with a brush until it's the consistency you want.

The reason they're so thick is that they have less water in them than regular acrylics. That's why they don't wrinkle your paper as much when dry. You can add water to the paint (not in the bottle of course) because they're water-based, but your paper may wrinkle more when dry.
