Die Cuts or Stickers

I prefer stickers because I don't have a xeron (sp?) machine and it's so much nicer just to peel and stick. I takes half the time and most die cuts are too plain for me.

I have two PSB full of stickers but lately have been using diecuts (the printed type by frame ups, etc.)more. I need to concentrate on using up some of my stickers. I think I am so afraid of using too many on a page I tend to just not use any. Seems like my style lately has been to use my title for the main decoration, mat my pics so they stick out, and very few embelliments.

I have one PSB full of stickers and one PSB full of diecuts. I get on streaks of using one or the other. One of the neatest things I have been doing for about a year is getting diecuts from the church school in Wyoming who use this as a fundraiser. You can buy the diecuts for ten cents each or "buy" them with General Mills Boxtops for Education..... each boxtop is equal to ten cents. The quality is excellent and the service is quick too. If your order totals $10 or more in cash and/or boxtops, the shipping is free. I have just sent in my fifth order to them and I am always pleased.

Stickers all the way!!!!!!!! I have a PSB full of stickers. I do have a few die cuts but I always end up chalking them to embellish them...Plus I can usually find a Sticker to go with my Layout.

Well if those are the two choices I'd probably pick die cuts BUT my ultimate choice would be punches!!! They are so versatile!

I love & use mainly stickers. But I do love big die-cuts for journaling purposes.

I was really drawn to stickers at first (probably the child in me), but now find punchouts to be so versatile.

I'm a sticker gal! Lately I've found myself using die-cuts more, but I find myself drawn back to the stickers. I've been doing some reading lately about embelishing the die-cuts with chalk and pencil, that sounds interesting, and the examples I've seen pictured are really lovely, but I guess I just feel more comfortable with the stickers. Another decrative tool I use though is computer graphics. I use the computer to journal directly on my page and print out my graphics at the same time. As i've mentioned before, I run a "test page" first on regular paper to check for placement, color, and size. Then I print on my card stock.

Which do you prefer?

I guess if I have to pick just one, I'd say stickers because there are so many different kinds...letters, people, things, etc. I usually just use stickers in boarders or journaling boxes though. I'm not real adventurous with them.

I'll just ditto Tammy's answer! I own a ton of stickers AND diecuts. I don't use them all that often though. (except for those making Memories "Little Letters." Love those suckers!)

I first used stickers...and then just didn't like how they didn't always look coordinated just right. So, I switched to die-cuts. I love stamping too...because I can make my own diecuts! FUN. Sometimes, if I find stickers I like, like I have the boxer short ones from Stickopatamous (SP?) and I take those and stick them on cardstock and cut them out. I like being able to move them around first before putting them down.

If I had to choose between the two, I'd pick stickers. I don't know why, but I just HATE die cuts! LOL! I guess they're too big and plain for me or something, and I've never been interested in embellishing them. I don't use stickers a lot, but I definitely like them and use them more than die cuts.

Now, what I would really pick if you'd given us more than two choices would be PUNCHES! I am crazy about punches, they always give just the look I like to a page.

I was sticker crazy in the begining and despite having access to a die cut machine could never really get into them. I still have a PSB FULL of stickers. Kept buying the cute little things long after I stopped using them, lol.

I know that I am going against the majority here, but oh well, I vote for die-cuts. I prefer the full color ones, not the plain die-cuts that are punched out of cardstock. I just never have preferred the look of stickers on a page...I don't really know why. I can't quite put my finger on it but they just look cluttered to me or something.

Sticker-gal here, so long as they are realistic and not "cutsie." Especially love those photo stickers, you know, the ones made from photographs. Have to agree with Janelle, I'm not fond of using die-cuts (but that hasn't stopped me from buying them, unfortunately!).

Punches require a LOT of patience with the glue - how do you ladies deal with that? I always end up with glue everywhere, and stressed out to boot (LOL!).

Lisa - the best two items I've found for punch art are a Sailor's glue pen and Mrs. Grossman's tweezers. Has made life much less stressful.

I use both equally! Depends on the layout and picture what I use, and I usually embellish the die cut.

I have 3 psb's full of stickers and I hardly ever use them...mostly because I could never see what I had...I would have to vote stickers, but I have recently purchased a set of chalks and plan on doing some die-cut chalking so i might change over....

I'll double ditto Tammy's answer (of those two choices, I'd pick die cuts), AND ditto JanetM's answer that I DO love the making memories little letter stickers (and the provocraft ones)...those are just about the only stickers I use (though I own a ton and a half of other stickers!)

You're right, it is too frustrating dealing with glue and punchies. My favorite tool for dealing with those pesky little punchies is my xyron sticker maker. I just run a few scraps (of the colors I need) thru it and then just punch out what I need.

Do I have to pick? I hardly ever use either anymore...though I have enough to give everyone in town a set of either stickers or die cuts! I have done a few die cut pages I like, but for the most part I can't ever seem to get them embellished right. I love stickers - too bad I don't use them enough! I do use the Little Letter and the PC tiny alphabitties all the time though!

I'll pick punches too - you can make any design you want and they always match what you're making!

I agree that punches are the best but if I have to choose between stickers and die cuts I would go with die cuts. I also use mostly the full color ones from Frame Ups and such but would really like to learn how to chalk. I have never tried cause it just looks too hard!! I have done several pages with stickers though!!!
