I do know that you are in Rochester, MN Bonnie but I have not seen anyone else here from the central midwest....
I do believe scrapping is a lot bigger out west (CA, TX, CO, UT, etc). I don't think it's caught on any faster on the East Coast than it has in the Midwest, but populations out East are a lot higher then the Midwest overall. (So it may seem like the East Coast has caught on before the Midwest, but in actuality, the percentages of the populations in the Midwest and East Coast who scrap may be about the same). Does that make any sense? LOL! At least that's my theory. Since so many scrapping companies started in Utah, I think that's why it may be "bigger" out west, but I think just has to work it's way Eastward. Of course there are always exceptions, like my MIL. When I started doing this she bought a couple albums from me and decided she was going to redo some of her books. Well, my DH has his books when he was a baby and when I was looking through them again a couple months ago, I realized my MIL, who lives in ND, was WAY ahead of her time. Yes, the photos are still in magnetic albums, (my next big project) but in the early 70's, that was very common. But she had journaling done on separate pieces of paper and die-cuts throughout the pages! On a birthday page, she drew a birthday hat, cut it out and journaled on it. This was a book done in 1971. I was just so excited to see that she was doing what we consider "scrapbooking" 30 years ago.

I know we have chatted before, at least i think we have! wink!
I live in Iowa, about 35 miles from Omaha Nebraska. If I remember right you are on the other side of Iowa.
I am surprised by the people who scrapbook that I had no idea that they do. I started working at a new LSS in Harlan Iowa and people have come to the store that I had no idea that scrapped!
There is going to be a new scrapbook store in Council Bluffs soon to I have heard. I am lucky to have 3 great stores in Omaha when I go that way too.
Tammy
I've found a few fellow scrappers, but none close enough to get together and scrap very often!
Great to see a couple of you from Iowa and also a couple from the Midwest!!!
Bonnie-- is there a LSS in Rochester??? When I lived there in the 70s, miniatures were all the rage and there were four dollhouse stores!!!

Well, there's a general craft store that carries a lot of scrapping and stamping stuff, but relatively overpriced IMO, and then a country store that has a little room with stamping and scrapping stuff, again overpriced, IMO! We also have a Joann's with a non-existent stamping/scrapping section and a Michael's just opened up. I started selling CTMH so I could buy the products I liked at a discount. (I would've just ended up buying most of my supplies from a Consultant anyway since I liked the CTMH products better than most of the things I can find in the local stores). We STILL don't have an Olive Garden here yet, though! That's all I'm really asking for; how hard can that be? LOL!

There are quite a few suburbs listed on the Creating Keepsakes Scrapper Locator under MN. Just go to http://www.creatingkeepsakes.com/scrapper_locator/ and you can find other people in your area who like to scrap.
Have fun!

I'm in northern Missouri, and it is SO hard to get to a good lss! I have a small one in the back of a flower shop about 30 minutes away, and a pretty good one an hour in the other direction, but that's about all that's local. I do a lot of shopping online!I've found a few fellow scrappers, but none close enough to get together and scrap very often!
There is a store in Pella that is good, and Dee I think there is one in CR, but I haven't checked it out yet. I will soon, and let you know.
