Lazy pages?

In looking through my books, I've got several pages with just the pictures on a simple mat with either plain card stock or a patterned paper and that's it. I'm just wondering if anyone else has pages that have hardly anything on them? Or do I just get too lazy sometimes?

Some of my pages are like that too, I don't consider it lazy, just simple. Sometimes I'll add stickers, a diecut or a sticker border so that it won't be to plain looking! Sometimes it better to have simple pages than to get really far behind because of too many really great pages!

Most of my early pages are done on patterned paper, so it doesn't look too plain. But a lot of my pages don't have a whole lot of "stuff" on them. I don't do a whole lot of pages at once though, so it stops me from being "lazy".

I have some pages like that but I try to add touches like paper tearing or double matting to give it a little kick in the tosh. Don't call it lazt call it chic!

Most of my pages that are like that, it was because I had too many pics to fit with anything else. I usually put in a simple border, or corner decoration. I also start doing a layout or two like this when I'm not really into the pics I'm scrapping. I want them in my album, but I don't have any sort of cute title or embelishments to go with the pictures. Sometimes I think of them almost as "cheater" pages, but I also find they add a sort of balance to my books, where every page is a little different. It adds variety.

I do have a lot of pages like that. Not from being lazy, just because I like to keep my pages simple. I try not to get too fussy and let the pictures stand out.

A lot of my pages are simpler layouts. I don't think it's lazy. An experienced scrapper just called my style clean and simple. I feel that my pages do not have to be masterpieces, just a way to creatively showcase my photos.
Besides, with the right photos, paper, etc. you'll find that those simpler pages are masterpieces. Look at the Mona Lisa

Some of my pages a really quite simple too--not every piece of Art is a masterpiece--neither does every single scrapbook page need to be a masterpiece either--sometimes doing something simple frees our minds to think creatively --but still get pages done--I wanted my son's freshman year book done this suumer--that was my goal--so some pages near the end became "cleaner" with not so many embellishments--but the story is still there.

Nothin' wrong with that.

1. They are safe in albums! (better than in a drawer somewhere)
2. They are jounalled!

I look atmy albums and notice that I have some simple pages and then some REALLY great ones mixed in (pop ups, something unique) That way those 'stand out' in people's memories and they think my whole album is like that. he he he!

I am just finishing up one of the plain pages. It is the second page of a double page layout and the first page is triple matted and has the journal box on it. The second page is a print background with a 1/2" cardstock border (why don't they make 12 X 12 a true 12 X 12?! ) and then I cropped my pics and put a very thin border on them. That's it - now should I add a couple stickers (they do relate) to dress it up or just leave it plain & simple? I really think I like it this way so may just leave well enough alone...

I am a beginner scrapper as well (and I am already addicted!) and I prefer to think of my pages as not having a simple design but a Classic design. I find that to be very consistent with how I decorate my home and how I dress as well so in that sense my scrapbook pages truly reflect ME and that is the most important part of how your pages are layed out.

I had recently bought the most recent issues of Creating Keepsake and Memory Makers magazines and was becoming overwhelmed by all the intricate layouts the magazines showed (especially Creating Keepsakes). Soon, I began comparing my work with theirs and I began to think my pages weren't that great but then I realized what I mentioned above....my pages are mine and they reflect who I am so that is surely what counts!

I also agree that not every page needs to be a masterpiece. I take so many pictures that I would never get them all into scrapbooks if I agonized over every page! I had 12 rolls of film from Disney World and was getting overwhelmed trying to get them all into my album. I used the best photos in my more intricate pages and then took the others and created some "collage" like pages. That way, they are in my album, but I didn't have to spend weeks working on them. I kind of like the effect. It's kind of like a "grand finale" to my album.
