Challenge - cleaning scraproom or scrap area?

Since the challenge has been extended, I will take it!

My crop is on Sunday, January 9, so this is perfect!!!

Also, I just finished uploading my Craft Corner pictures. Whew! I am not used to this particular BB, so that was a challenge in and of itself!!! LOL These pictures are the AFTER from last February. You can see some cute Valentine's in a picture of my desk. LOL It is definitely not this neat NOW. I'll take a current picture later and upload it when my DD takes a nap. I need to feed her lunch now.

Ok, girls!
I'm currently uploading four pics of my sbroom. It is a mess!! It's also a basement room-and we are getting ready to begin "finishing" it. I'm uploading a drawing of what the finished room will look like.

When I'm done, I'll post a link--the pics will be in my "Photos" album.

I'm in! I feel like I should clean a little before I even take a "before" pic...it's that bad!! I'll take a pic later today if I get a chance or tomorrow. I desperately need this motivation!

Lucky for me I'm one step ahead. I cleaned my scrap area out Wednesday night b/c I wanted to scrap all weekend. I wish all of you luck, I've gotten so much scrapping done since I've cleaned up.

TimeWrinkler-- that is NOT that bad. And I am so jealous of how much space you have, even if it is basement w/ concrete walls. I think your scrap space is bigger than my whole apartment!

It's not in too bad of shape right now--but I am having the "girls" over third weekend in January, and I need to get it back into shape again. It HAS looked much much worse!
Yep, it's big. That's for all the sb parties we have here. Acually, my sb room just recently moved to this location of the basement. It used to be in the opposite corner of the basement, and this room USED to be my sewing room.

I'm gonna get crackin on this--I realized there is only a week! lol. Since I know I gotta upload a pic of the "new and improved" cleaned up version, I will try harder! lol

BTW--I've been checking out BeachScrapper's gallery--you should see HER organization efforts!! to die for!!!

Darn, wouldn't you know it.... I cleaned mine up on MOnday and Tuesday of this week. BEFORE you issued the challenge. Oh, well at least it is done. I took 2 BIG bags of older stuff that I knew that I wouldn't use to the LSS. THey were collecting for a local charity (they use scrapbooks as a form of therapy for abused children). I really pared my stuff way down... but still have to too much stuff according to dh..

I'll join. Photos won't really tell the true messy story here though. My parents came to town last week and my sb room was so bad you could barely walk through it so I got a few tubs and just dumped everything into them. It is a little messy now, but most of it is "hidden". I really need to get it all organized - Although I don't think it will ever look like the photo I have of my room in my gallery from when it was new. I have accumulated WAY too much stuff. I will do my best and see what happens this week.

Believe me, the before picture was VERY scary, but I think things are shaping up nicely now that I stopped at my neighborhood walmart for some organizational assistance

Okay, I have made some progress. I went to Walmart yesterday and bought a storage tower; the only problem was while I was in there I walked over to the scrapping area and bought some chunky foam alphabet stamps. (But they reminded me of the MM ones -- however-- these were only 4.00) Oops!!! I should be cleaning up and I am bringing in more clutter. I guess I shouldn't shop until I finish

Lol Penny, I went to walmart to get some organizers and walked out with a 10x10 christmas album that was on clearance for 1.80, as well as a couple of clearance foam stamps and tags

Can I join too? My area is messy! Though not too too bad, but in major need of cleaning and organizing. My DH will LOVE you for this! I have started organizing lots of times but before I get done I will find something that gives me an idea for a LO and so then I never finish. Buy the time finish the LO I have to start the cleaning all over. So now I have to do it!!
I will get a before pic and post it later today or tomarrow.

P.S. If while you are cleaning, you come across stuff that you will no longer use and want to donate it somewhere, I'm hosting another Crop for the Cure (for breast cancer) the last week in September and this year in addition to the auction table and chance table, we are going to have a garage sale table with all funds being donated to the Komen Foundation. If you are interested in sending your stuff to me, just PM me and I'll send out my addy. So far in my box, I have deco scissors, rubber stamps, stickers, etc. Just stuff I won't use or that I have duplicates of. No pressure but just in case you want it out of your house! LOL

I have two huge rubbermaids that I got just to store the stuff until Sept.

I can't see it cause it's so dark. I'm sure though it's not as bad as mine. It was all those swaps I was in - I have stuff in bags everywhere!

Just finished sorting the buttons by color and set up containers to put in swap stuff by category (hanging files) in one of those containers that holds them - I'm done for tonight but will be back at it after church tomorrow!! LOL

I'm so glad you guys talked me into a week - there is NO way I could have done this in a weekend!!

OMG...Deb, how funny. I thought my room was cluttered, but
after seeing this, mine don't look to bad after all. I have
to show this to my dh who is always bugging me about my room
being a mess. Isn't that why we have our own rooms, so that we
can keep them as cluttered and messy as we want? Those pics are

Ya - It's at an all time bad right now - I can't believe I had the guts to post!!

I do "share" the room with my kids for their crafts and my hubby has his tools etc. in there too - so to be fair to me - it's not just MY stuff creating the mess!!! LOL

The kids and I did painted stuff for Thanksgiving and Christmas and made snowman soup - I stamped the snowman etc. as well as Halloween stuff so.....what I'm saying is the stuff has been accumulating for a while!!

Mine is bad I am so sick of all the little baggies from swaps. I am organizing everything and getting rid of the bags. I just finished wrapping all my fiber onto the dmc floss things. I also already sorted all of my eyelets by color.

The swaps were fun but I think it's a real challenge to organize all the stuff. I have SO much from swaps and I just forget I have it. I'm trying so hard to organize it in a way that I'll use it. Honestly, after this - I think I need a no buy challenge!! LOL

As soon as I saw this challenge, I grabbed the camera and took some pics. I really should add one of the living room because I have my mom's heritage pictures all over the couch and coffee table! Perhaps if I get my room cleaned, I can move back in and scrap where I am supposed to!

I can't believe it!! I didn't have a chance to get online today because I was too busy cleaning my scraproom!! It also turns into the gift wrap room during the holidays! Oh, well--I didn't get any pages done, but I got a few cards made!

Debbie - this is a great challenge and I'm joining too - I had my sb room all cleaned up and organized last summer and it's a wreck again...I will post pics tomorrow...and I'm off work for the next few days so hopefully I can really get going on this...all this disorganized mess is driving me nuts ...although I totally admit I am a messy scrapper- that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!!

It's New Year's Eve and I have decided that I NEED to clean my scraproom this weekend. I've been like this all week in cleaning the house - something about starting the year clutter free. Anyone want to join me in trying to get your scrap room or area cleaned/organized over the next week

I'll have a little something for everyone who completes the challenge by next Saturday, Jan. 9th

Great idea, Deb! This is exactly what I *need* to do this weekend for several reasons:
1. I have been going through the entire house (like you!

) and this area is last, as usual.
2. I am going to a crop in a week and I need to prep for it.
3. At that crop, we are also having a scrapping garage sale, so a clean/organize thing this weekend would be perfect for me to gather the items I don't use.

Unfortunately, I just got hit (more like SLAMMED by a MACK truck!) with a nasty cold yesteday afternoon and it is showing signs of being tenacious.

If I can kick this cold to the curb, then I would love to participate. I cannot commit to it at this moment, though.

I'm in, but do we have to be finished by the end of the weekend? Can we have a week or so? Or am I on my own?

Ok....a week is probably more realistic - I just get SO excited to get this done so.....how about everyone will be done no later than Jan. 9th. (a week from tomorrow) I will send out something little to everyone who completes the goal and thus, helps motivate me to get it done!!! LOL

Scrap Area that Needs Cleaning

Only because I am among friends do I show this messy area.

I have seen your basement Deb....it is not that bad!!!!!

I just cleaned up my area before Christmas, so there isn't much to clean.

It's gotten tons worse with Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas - I just keep loading stuff in paper bags and throwing it in that space!! LOL

Kids and I did lots and lots of crafts this year together and that is their space as well. Some day, I'll have a scrap room all to myself but for now.....I can just dream!! LOL

I took one thing at a time.I have all my craft supplies in one closet, so I just picked a category a day. Warning thought, lol, it got really really messy before it got better.

This sounds like fun! i don't have a very large area for scrapping but right now its busting open and I just have PILES of stuff where it doesn't belong
