I need to vent. And I either break something, or TYPE really really hard. So we moved. It fun, it rained, everything got soaked. I didn't really care because the new place is so much better (smaller, in an apt complex, BUT SOOOOOOO much better, you'll see why). So Sunday, I spent most of the day cleaning my old place. It's really old home, and we lived in the upstairs, and Sergio, one of the owners lived in the mother-in-law apt in the basement. I knew that he would give us a hard time when we moved out, mainly because the jacked up the rent, and no one has rented it yet, so I KNOW he doesn't want to part with the hefty deposit we made. They told us we needed to have the carpets cleaned, it's not in our lease, but whatever, we lived in it for a year, we'll just go rent a machine and do it ourselves. There's not much carpet, just two small bedrooms and the living room. So we did. Now the bedrooms are what my father (who knows about these things cause he's a smart man) calls cut pile carpet (no loops, and if you run your hand one way its a dark color, and the other way it's lighter) so there are lines from the machine, and also a few foot prints where people have walked across it. His complaint today was not that the carpets were not cleaned, but that it looked like someone had walked across the floor. Well No ${!+ sherlock, IT'S A FLOOR!!!! And either we have then RE-cleaned, or he will charge us for them. (He just started a side buisness of, you guessed it, carpet cleaning!) And the KILLER was that the blinds were not clean. I spent 3 hours cleaning all the dust off of them (they were COVERED in dust when we moved in a year ago, and I cleaned them then too) and I asked him to show me, so he goes and runs his fingers over like 3 rungs of the blinds, and comes off with the smallest amount of dust I have seen, and he's looking at me like, "I told you so" and all I can do is stare at him with this "you have got to be kidding me" look. So now my hands are shaking, my face is red, and I feel like crying and screaming and hitting him! (I am one of those dorky people that tear up, and voice goes shaky when I'm mad.) To top it all off, he has been entering the place WITHOUT our permission, and our lease does not end until tomorrow.
