Cricut Expression Starter Accessories??

Just wondering what accessories I should get for the Expression to give as a gift for my mom? I'm thinking for sure the 12 x 24 mat and a deep cutting blade. What other tools/accessories would you recommend to start off with? Any thoughts would be great. Thanks!

What sorts of projects does your mom do? Will she have a need for cutting thicker materials? Will she be cutting anything larger than a 12x12" sheet of paper/cardstock?

I honestly wouldn't bother with the 12x24" mat or even the deep cutting blade.

When I got my E, I also got the tool kit and the spatula. That's really all that I would get extra.

The Spatula! If you want to purchase something else, get her a cartridge or two or maybe even SCAL or MTC. I'd wait on the 12 X 24 mat, and deep cut blade too, lots you can do without those.

definately the stupid little 5 dollar spatula! I didn't have one for 2 years, and now I don't know how I got along without it!

I don't have any tools but I think I'd like the spatula!

Just wonderin' (and pimpin' my school) if you did the get an E, give an E deal? If so, and you didn't donate to a school or know of a school to give it to, I'd love to have one at my school. Yes, I know, shameless plug and begging. Sometimes teachers gotta do that.

I put my vote in for the spatula. And also the Crafter's Companion Stick Away and also the Stick and Spray so she can refurbish her mats instead of buying new ones all the time.

Just be warned that re-stickying your mats will void the warranty if they find any gunk in your rollers at service,,,,

Ok thanks everyone, I'll definitely pick up the spatula and tool kit and was planning on picking up a couple cute cartridges. I was just reading about the SCAL and MTC so maybe one of those also. Thanks so much!

I have no clue,,,,,I've always used it just like a regular spatula, not upside down, and that's how I lift my cookies too It works fine for me

I too agree with everyone about the spatula! Of all the accessories I have for my Cricut, this is the one I use the most. I do have the toolkit, but never really use it. I just happened to pick it up at WM on clearance for $10. I have the deep cut blade but think I have used it once...and that was to test out some chipboard I had. It was really thin chipboard and I could have probably used the regular blade with it.

I've been looking around different websites and it seems WM has the best package deal on Expressions but one package comes with an Expression, Jukebox, tool kit and 2 cartridges and it's actually $4 cheaper than the package that comes with just the Expression, tool kit and 2 cartridges-anyone know how that could be? Does anyone use the Jukebox and think you really need it?? Thanks!
