I know there's a bit of a price difference, but would you upgrade your baby bug to an E first, or invest in a gypsy first? I'm trying to make a final decision before the big sales, and I don't think I can swing both. I do already have the design studio and SCAL. Hmmm....

Well I got the Expression prior to getting the Gypsy and I am happy I did it that way. I never had the baby, but I have a Create. The Gypsy only added the ability to design and weld....I wanted to cut larger so that decision was easy for me. I guess it depends on how you are going to use it. If I had to do over again, I would def get the E first.

Thats tricky! But because you already have the ability to do all that the G does using DS, I think I would go for the E.

But now that I think about it....does DS really do all that the G can do? Can you flip images with DS? (altho, you can with the E) oh boy decisions, decisions!!!

I was trying to make a similar choice,,,,someone gifted me (very sweetly!) with the G,,,,,and I LOVE THIS THING!!!!! But I am wondering if DS is so similar, that you'd want to hop to an E first,,,,

hmmmmmmmm might do a comparison between DS and Gypsy,,,,,,,

From what I know, there hasn't been many updates for DS (although I haven't used it since getting my G ). You can weld, hide contour, flip....

The G was on sale for $115 if that helps you decide (with 7 carts).

Thanks for the thoughts, everyone. I just still can't decide. I'm kind of leaning toward the E, and I like the green one that WM will have on Friday, but if the gypsy goes on sale for much less than $100, it almost makes it worth it for the seven carts. Sigh.

I want an E. The only reason I'd get the gypsy is for the tags/bags/boxes cart. I don't want to pay as much as it's going for on evilbay. I have SCAL, don't do much designing on the fly and I have my lappy with me most of the time.

I hear you and it is a tough decision to make. I am getting the G at M's today. I already own the E and love it but I recently purchased the Create so when I go to NYC form PA I can use it with my scrapbook buddy!!!! Good Luck!!!

The G makes everything so much better. At first I thought it was just a great little tool, but now I can't use the machine without it. I think M's has it for under a hundred.

My expression is in the mail along with the design software....but now I;m thinking I should buy the gypsy also? I'm confused about what the gypsy does. I thought it was onlt for designing on the go.....

Another nice thing the Gypsy does besides designing on the go is that it allows you to use multiple cartridges on a single design without having to switch cartridges on your Cricut when you go to cut. You can weld letters to make words like cursive or weld shapes together to create new shapes. It has a LOT of fun features. It's more convenient for me than DS with the Jukebox were.
